Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Note 8 Pro: What’s Getting Better & Bad?

Note 9 Pro leaks are growing, and already some crucial information including key features are out.

The next Redmi Note series will launch during the same period as Redmi Note 7 series. Redmi Note 9 series will launch in China first, and then in India.

Redmi Note 8 Pro has already been a huge success in India, and so is Redmi Note 8, so the expectations are high with the upcoming Redmi Note 9 series.

According to the floating reports, Redmi Note 9 series as the predecessors will comprise two primary Note 9 phones and maybe some other improved versions with some little change in features, which will launch later. Redmi Note 8 series came to India in October 2019.

Let’s check out what are the expected changes on Redmi Note 9 Pro compared to Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Note 8 Pro: Design And Display

Redmi Note 9 Pro will pack in glass design as the predecessors with some new colour combinations. Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 8 Pro came with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protections with a gradient back design.

The leaks suggest Note 9 Pro in a gradient design as the Redmi K20 series.

Coming to display, Note 9 Pro will again come with a similar IPS LCD panel as other Redmi Note series phones.

Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ screen offering an immersive 91.94 per cent screen-to-body ratio. On the out, the smartphone comes with a glass sandwich body sporting a 3D curved curved glass.

Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Note 8 Pro: Hardware, Processor

Redmi Note 9 Pro will run on a new Snapdragon 700 series processor, expected to be Snapdragon 730. The company has already used it in Redmi K20, and the device has been great in terms of midrange performance.

Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with the newly launched MediaTek Helio G90T processor. The company will again put special focus on gaming performance as the current Redmi Note smartphone.

Redmi Note 8 Pro vs Note 9 Pro: Cameras, Videography

Redmi Note 9 Pro will also be setting some new standards with the camera, and hence Sony IMX686 64MP is expected as the main camera. Note 8 Pro comes with the 64MP camera. The Redmi smartphone features a primary 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 2MP depth sensor, 8MP Ultra Wide lens and 2cm Macro lens.

Redmi Note 8 Pro already comes with Samsung 64MP sensor, so Note 9 Pro may also have the largest 108MP sensor.

It’s going to be a four-camera setup with wide-angle lens, a depth sensor and a macro camera. Upfront, currently Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a single 13MP shooter, and Note 9 Pro is expected to get an improved 20MP shooter with similar AI supported features.

Redmi Note 8 Pro vs Note 9 Pro: Battery, Fast Charging

Lastly, the same 4,500 mAh battery is expected on Redmi Note 9 Pro with battery capacity optimisation. The company already offers 18W fast charging, and either the same or a higher speed fast charging could be offered with Note 9 Pro.

Recently Realme offered a better 30W fast charger with the mid-range Realme X2.

So, Xiaomi may choose to go with the existing 27W fast charging or their own new 30W fast charging charger for Redmi Note 9 Pro.
