OnePlus To Export Smartphones From India

First it was Apple, and now it is OnePlus who is expanding its market in the Indian smartphone market.

Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, said that that the company has set up sufficient SMT lines for its increased sales for this year, and the popular company has already started exporting smartphones from India to the western markets, including the US.

He said, “2019 is our best year so far (in India)…As Indian infrastructure matures and ecosystem for manufacturing builds out, there is definitely a possibility to keep investing here.”

Pei also said, “We might be going into the services space and might be announcing more services and features. If we don’t try, we will never know… we are looking at a lot of areas.”

OnePlus To Start Manufacturing TVs in India By Year End

In an interview, the CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau, has announced the company’s plans of starting to manufacture television sets in India by the end of this year.

All the television sets that are being sold now are all manufactured in China, and then they are imported to India. And that will be discontinued come the year end, as TVs will be manufactured in India itself.

As per Lau, OnePlus will be focusing only on the premium segment of the electronics market, exactly similar to the company’s smartphone variants. He also revealed that as of yet, there are no affordable smart TVs in the plans of the company.

We already know that OnePlus has recently launched its smart TV, which has a 55-inch screen size powered by a Quantum LED display technology. The TV comes with an extra sliding soundbar which displays the content combined with Dolby’s audio and visual technologies.
