The much-hyped Redmi Note 8 has been leaked again, and finally the design is out. Two new Redmi smartphones have been on China’s 3C certification database. All the sources hint at to be the next Redmi Note 8 series. The company GM has confirmed that the Note 8 series is on the developing phase, and the names on 3C does throw in some light.
One of the upcoming Redmi smartphones will support 18W fast charging out of the box.
The leaked design shows a new polar white body on the out with a four camera system. The vertically placed camera design matches with the newly launched Redmi K20 series. You can also mistook it as the Realme X white edition. From behind, the leaked Redmi Note 8 image appears very similar to Realme X (white model).

Redmi Note 8 Leaked: New Design, Better Hardware & More!
The leaked image of the alleged Redmi Redmi Note 8 gives us a glimpse of Redmi’s upcoming quad camera system looks very similar design to Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. The four camera system has three camera sensors arranged vertically, while the fourth Time of Flight (ToF) sensor is placed on the right.
The two Redmi phones on the 3C website have revealed two variants of each device. The first Redmi device with M1908C3IE and M1908C3IC models supporting 10W charging. While the second with M1906G7E and M1906G7T variants will come with MDY-10-EC charger supporting 18W rapid charging.
These could be Redmi Note 8 Series, with the first being the regular Redmi Note 8 and the other being the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Both Realme and Redmi are working on on 64MP camera smartphones. Realme will be launching its 64MP smartphone before Diwali, and Redmi said by the end of 2019. The camera technology has been unveiled at respective events held in India and China. Realme is all set to unveil its first four camera smartphones with upcoming Realme 5 Series, Xiaomi will probably do it with Redmi Note 8 Series.
While Realme will launch its 64MP smartphone separately, Xiaomi may unveil its 64MP smartphone under Redmi Note 8 series. Realme 5 series will only come with four camera modules, and not the 64MP sensor.
Redmi Gaming Smartphone: Under Redmi Note 8 Series?
Xiaomi India confirmed soon this announcement of the new MediaTek chip, that the company will launch a gaming smartphone running on the latest MediaTek Helio G90T. While the confusion around the name continues, an upcoming Redmi gaming smartphone is on its way, and it will be powered by the latest Helio G90T.
The new MediaTek octa-core Helio G90T chip can clocked at up to 2.05GHz. G90T uses ARM Cortex-A76 power cores and Cortex-A55 efficiency cores coupled with Mali G76 GPU with clock speeds of up to 800MHz for graphics.
The chip can support up to 10GB LPDDR4 RAM with support for 64-megapixel resolution primary sensor and three additional cameras. The SoC is capable of having full-HD+ displays with up to 21:9 aspect ratio and 90Hz display refresh rate.
MediaTek has a special HyperEngine that will help the device to boost up mobile gaming experience.
According to the chipmaker, the new G90T will be able to optimize the networking engine to offer 50 percent faster response time from the server. Additionally, there’s a Dual Wi-Fi connection support letting the smartphone to simultaneously connect with two Wi-Fi bands or two routers at a time.
Redmi Note 8 Officially Confirmed: Is It The 64MP Redmi Phone?
Recently while responding to a query, Redmi GM has officially confirmed that the company will soon be launching a new smartphone under the Note series. While the company is just a few months into the Redmi Note 7 series, the company plans to cash in the success soon.
Tha translated reply says that Redmi Note 8 is going to be much more stronger. Plus, it’s an open invitation to the competitors and the launch is just around the corner.
No other details were shared, but the launch seems to be imminent. The company is now launching two Redmi smartphones in a year. Redmi Note 7 arrived in early-January, and the next generation Redmi Note smartphone should be dropping soon.
Among all the details, it is being speculated that the upcoming smartphone is going to be come with a 64MP camera sensor. This could either be a seperate smartphone, or Redmi Note 8 with the 64MP camera sensor.
Just after the announcement of the Realme smartphone with a 64MP camera sensor, Xiaomi also confirmed that the company will soon be launching a 64MP camera device. Redmi Note 8 could come with a similar camera system. Redmi has already been teasing its 64MP camera smartphone.
The 64MP sensor would use pixel binning technology to increase light with real-time HDR of up to 100-decibels.
Redmi Note 8 is going to company’s next big entry featuring Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 64MP sensor. The 64MP sensor would use pixel-merging Tetra Cell technology and a remosaic algorithm delivering 16MP images in low-light environments.
Redmi Note 8 India Launch: Realme 5 Series vs Redmi Note 8 Series
Realme will be launching its own 64MP smartphone in the country before Diwali, and Xiaomi too will have to keep up with the competition as early as possible. The company is already facing some stiff challenge from Realme in the budget segment. It’s set with its latest quad camera Realme 5 series, and Xiaomi should be ready with the answer.
While Xiaomi is launching Mi A3 with a three camera system in the budget segment, it will need more powerful smartphones to tackle Realme 5 series.
Redmi Note 7 Pro have done pretty well against Realme 3 Pro. Similarly Redmi Note 8 series is expected to take on Relame 5 series again, and we would get some great budget smartphones to choose from.
Coming to Redmi Note 8 India launch, it shouldn’t take much time. It’s been already certified in China, and the launch seems imminent. The Redmi Note 8 India launch will happen just within a few weeks after China launch, most probably by the end of September or early October.
Finally, it’s too early to comment on the Redmi Note 8 India price, but the base variant of Note 8 Pro will come under Rs 15,000 in India. The Redmi Note 8 India price will also depend on the price of Realme 5 Pro price in India. The regular Note 8 will be launched in the sub-10K segment, and Note 8 Pro in sub-15K.
