There is some shocking news coming in, regarding Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro smartphones, which are expected to be launched today, August 8th.
Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will not have 64MP camera sensor!
This has been revealed by 91Mobiles, a reputed source of mobile-related news.
As per them, some ‘industry sources’ have revealed that Realme 5 will have a 16MP primary camera, while Realme 5 Pro will have 48MP camera sensor as the primary camera.
Another big shocker: telephoto lens will be absent in both the variants.
While Realme 5 Pro is rumored to have a AMOLED screen panel, both Realme 5 and Pro will have U-shaped notch, and will be powered by Qualcomm processors.
Interestingly, the sources have also said that in the event hosted by Realme on August 8th, it may happen that Realme 5 is not unveiled.
Why Did We Assume That Realme 5 Will Have 64MP Camera?
Firstly, and foremostly, Realme India Head Madhav Sheth changed his name on Twitter to “Madhav ‘5’ Quad.”
As we all know, Madhav has this habit of changing his name to match the name of the smartphone Realme is launching, and this led to the speculation that during the event on August 8th, Realme can launch their Realme 5, with Quad Camera technology, powered with 64MP camera sensor.
Besides, as we reported, Madhav Sheth’s tweet: “Just got hands on the world’s first 64MP quad camera device that will be revealed this Thursday. Check how crazy the clarity is! Btw we don’t believe in hype so this device will be the most practical choice at its price and it will be launched very soon.”
This led to the speculation that on August 8th event, Realme will launch Realme 5 with 64MP camera sensor, which now seems wrong.
But what will happen during the event today (August 8th)?

To add to the mystery, both Realme and Madhav Sheth’s Twitter handles have shared some interesting images related to the 64MP camera smartphone, from Realme.
As per the Tweets, Realme will reveal some prototype of a future smartphone, which is having 64MP quad camera setup.

Hence, it may happen that Realme 5 is launched, without 64MP camera, but a prototype of a new smartphone is also showcased, which will have 64MP quad camera set up.
