OPPO has introduced two new smartphones under the Reno name – the OPPO Reno and OPPO Reno 10X Zoom, the latter of which ranks at the top where optical zoom is concerned.
The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom has been launched in India on May 28th and is the world’s first 6x Optical and 10x Hybrid Zoom lossless zoom telephoto camera.
The two variants of the phone are priced as below:
- 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM: Rs. 39,990
- 8GB RAM + 256 GB ROM: Rs. 49,990

What’s in the Box?
The box contains the usual, such as the documentation, a USB Type-C cable, a VOOC 3.0 adapter.
What is different about the OPPO Reno 10x phone is that there is a hard case in the box, which is quite unlike the TPU cases that come with the other phones these days. The case is of good quality and so are the earphones that come in the box.
Camera
The camera of the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is absolutely outstanding, wherein, the rear camera is a triple camera setup of 48 MP with the legendary IMX 586 Sony flagship sensor and a 13 MP Telephoto lens plus an 8 MP wide angle lens as well.
The camera flaunts various features: a wide-angle camera, night mode, dazzle colour mode (which is similar to the colour boost mode).
Additionally, the camera also supports the recording of 4K video!
One feature that the phone is equipped with is the dual OIS – this helps stabilize the picture while recording a video or a clicking a picture, especially when zoomed.
The easy winner among the features of the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is the shark fin selfie camera of 16 MP.
Build, Look, and Feel
On the bottom of the phone are the hybrid sim card slot, a USB Type-C port, a microphone and a speaker grill. The power button is on the right side and stands out with a greenish tinge. On the top is the popular shark fin selfie camera and microphone mounted on it. The volume toggle keys are on the left side of the phone.
What is worth mentioning is that the cover enhances the look and appearance of the phone, making it all the more attractive.
Display
The display is another positive aspect of this phone with a giant 6.6 inch AMOLED screen and Gorilla Glass 6 protection as well. The screen to body ratio is a great 93.1, thanks to shark fin camera. The phone is totally notchless, has extremely thin bezels on top and side, and a very thin chin.
The shark fin camera has resolved multiple issues of the phone and given it more pros than cons.
The actual display of the phone is very satisfactory with the vibrant, bright and clear colours. The display is above par, be it indoors or outdoors.
Battery and Processor
OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is powered by the capable Qualcomm SD 855 processor and the OS is Color OS 6.0 with an Android 9.0 Pie update. There is some bloatware on the phone in the form of pre-installed apps. However, that can be uninstalled too.
The AnTuTu score of the phone is greater than 3,60,000, which gives a clear idea of the phone’s more than satisfactory performance. OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is an outstanding phone when it comes to performance.
The battery of the phone is of 4065 mAh, which also has VOOC 3.0 fast charging support.
Sensors
OPPO Reno 10x Zoom has the in-display fingerprint sensor and the face unlock feature too, both of which are quite fast and competent.
Our Opinion
If you put on the cover that comes with the phone, it becomes a hefty phone and yet, is easy to handle. The Reno 10x Zoom gives off a professional look and has a decent appearance. At the first impression, the phone seems quite durable and will probably last 4 to 5 years without a hitch.
The display is another feature that will boost the sales of this phone. The radiant colors of the display are sure to make any user happy.
The camera of the phone with its 10x zooming capacity is the feature that takes away all the prize. We tested the 10x zoom and the photos we clicked definitely talk volumes about the great quality of the sensors fitted in the camera.
Even in low lighting, the pictures were great and the zoom was extremely satisfactory.
In short, the phone has surpassed our expectations and the first impressions it made are truly incredible!
