Samsung Opens Research Centre for 6G Development

Samsung Electronics has unveiled a new research centre for the development of core next gen network technologies. Samsung has been the first one in the market to launch the world’s first 5G phone and has already started working on the 6G network developments under the name Samsung Research. It is still in a much early stage, but will probably use satellites for global coverage and offer extremely high data rates.

Huawei Announces Maimang 8 Officially

Huawei has announced a new phone, Huawei Maimang 8 for the Chinese customers, and the phone is similar to the Huawei P Smart+ 2019 phone launched last year. The phone’s display has a waterdrop notch, a 6.21-inch IPS panel with FHD+ screen. The camera is a 24 MP and 16 MP ultra wide sensor with a 2 MP depth sensor as well. There will also be a fingerprint sensor on the back and the selfie camera is of 8 MP. the phone is powered by Kirin 710 processor, Android 9.0 Pie update and a 3400 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy A80 India Launch

Looks like Samsung is planning to launch the newest addition to its Galaxy A series, Samsung Galaxy A80 in India. The smartphone has been spotted on the Samsung India official website, with a button, ‘Notify Me’ beside it. This is the first ever phone from Samsung to come with a rotating camera module and will be powered by the Snapdragon 730G processor. The phone will come with a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display as well. The price of the Samsung Galaxy A80 is estimated to be around Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 50,000.

Google Apologises For Service Outage; 10% Drop in YouTube Views

Due to an unintentional technical tweak, more than 50% of Google’s servers faced an unexpected downtime, which resulted in massive outage. Such was the impact, that Youtube experienced a 10% drop in traffic, and Google has apologized for the same. Via blog post, Google explained that the configuration change was intended for a servers located in a specific region, which mistakenly, was applied to 50% of the Google’s servers, spread across the world.

Now, services are restored, and Google is evaluating how did this happen.
