Qualcomm Snapdragon SiP 1: What’s Different?
Snapdragon SiP 1 is a special system-in-package processor. Unlike other chipsets, the Snapdragon SiP is smaller and powerful at the same time. Qualcomm has tried to further reduce the size of the SoCs with Snapdragon SiP 1 again.
The new system-in-package processor integrates various components of the same Snapdragon SoC with newer parts like application processor, power management, RF front end, and audio codec.
All these have been implemented into a single semiconductor system in package.
The Snapdragon SiP chips have been specifically designed in small sizes, which will help the OEMs to simplify manufacturing processes. The first Snapdragon SiP uses the same 14nm manufacturing process-based process as Snapdragon 625 or 632.
What’s New With Qualcomm Snapdragon SiP 1?
The new Snapdragon chip focuses on delivering the same performance as it’s other chips, but in a more simplified manner. The size is going to small, and Qualcomm aims to take the manufacturing process to another level by helping OEMs to make chips faster and in a more convenient way.
The latest Snapdragon SiP 1 has been designed to offer superior connectivity, security, and accessibility.
Built on a 14nm manufacturing process-based, it’s an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with Adreno 506 GPU.
The company aims to create an innovative and superior user experience.
Currently, the Snapdragon SiP 1 is available in the latest Asus devices in Brazil, but will soon see deployment to other manufacturers and countries around the globe.
