Xiaomi always has been a flag-bearer of a new range of flagships in the country. It has been to redefine different price categories with its own super smartphones like Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi Mi A1, Poco F1 and more.

And most recently, it’s the two new phones: Note 7 and Note 7 Pro.

While Redmi Note 7 hits the under 10,000 categories, the Redmi Note 7 Pro surprisingly challenges the likes of some smartphones which are even priced double to it.

Today, we are putting Poco F1 against Redmi Note 7 Pro to see who’s the new affordable flagship king.

Redmi Note 7 Pro vs Poco F1: In-Depth Comparison

Let’s find out who’s the new king in the affordable flagship lineup.

Design & Build

Redmi Note 7 Pro sports a glass sandwich body. It’s protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on the out. Note 7 Pro does look good where Poco F1 features an all-plastic body. In terms of durability, Xiaomi Poco F1 will get a heads up here because of its built.

But if we compare the looks, Redmi Note 7 Pro with the glass built looks more handsome and classy.

Both come with notch displays with thin bezels on the sides and a heavy chin down under. The larger notch on Poco F1 offers lower screen to body ratio. Both are comfortable to hold, but the Poco F1 slightly thicker compared to the Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Display

Poco F1 sports a 6.18-inch display with the first generation styled wide notch. It has an infrared camera for faster and more accurate face recognition which Note 7 Pro misses out on.

In comparison, Redmi Note 7 Pro sports a slightly larger 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with second-generation dot notch. The water drop notch helps Note 7 Pro with a higher screen space compared to Poco F1.

Hardware & Performance

It’s not fair to compare the hardware here. Both come with very different SoCs. If you are someone who needs a seamless day to day performance, both Poco F1 and Redmi Note 7 Pro are highly capable of it.

But, in terms of hardcore gaming, Poco F1 will have a definite advantage here with its flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and Liquid Cooling technology.

In comparison, Redmi Note 7 Pro runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC, built on an 11nm process.  Snapdragon 675 has four Kryo 460 cores and four Kryo 460 Silver cores.

In terms of standard performance, both the smartphones can handle day to day tasks easily, but Poco F1 will obviously have the edge here with Snapdragon 845 with more cores and prowess.

Software

Redmi Note 7 Pro runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie with custom MIUI 10. Poco F1, on the other hand, runs MIUI with a fresh new Poco launcher based on Android Oreo. It’s better than MIUI and feels more stock and easy to handle.

The company has released the latest update expected to have the Android security patch based on Android 9 Pie OS (MIUI 10.2.3 UI).

Storage

Redmi Note 7 Pro is available in two storage options: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. Poco F1, on the other hand, is available in three storage options: 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.

Both Poco F1 and Redmi Note 7 Pro support memory expansion via an external microSD card, up to 256GB.

Rear Camera

This is a game-changer. Both smartphones come with some great rear camera performance. Xiaomi Poco F1 recently even leveled up Apple iPhone 8 in terms of overall camera performance on DxOMark.

Poco F1 sports a dual rear camera system consisting of 12MP primary sensor paired with a 5MP secondary lens for depth sensing.

While Redmi Note 7 Pro games it up here with a rear dual rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. The 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor on the Note 7 Pro outperforms most of the images captured on Xiaomi Poco F1.

The latest technology offers better color reproduction with high definition contrast.

Even in term of low light performance, Note 7 Pro has been able to pull off better shots with more details and pixels. Even with the HDR mode on, Poco F1 can’t stand against the 48MP shots of Note 7 Pro.

You can’t call Poco F1’s camera bad, as it does bring in details with overall improved dynamic range, even in low light too, but Note 7 Pro does a better job.

In well-lit conditions and bright daylight, the differences are very minimal and the Poco F1 can hold its own against the Note 7 Pro. But in less light, the images shot on Poco F1 come out shaggy, low on details and with lot of noise.

Front Camera

The front camera on both smartphones can capture decent shots. Xiaomi Poco F1 boasts a 20MP selfie camera while the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a 13MP sensor.

Both the shooters come with an f/2.0 aperture, helping the cameras differentiate subjects with almost accurate blurs.

Connectivity

Both the smartphones come with a rear fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5.0, Infrared, and dual-SIM support.

Battery

Again, both Poco F1 and Note 7 Pro are powered by the same 4,000mAh unit. Both the smartphones support 18W Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology.
