85% Cable TV Users Choose DTH/Cable Packs
As per Aniruddhasinhji Jadeja, founder and MD of GTPL Hathway, their 85% of the users have opted for bouquets and packs suggested by them.
This means, only 15% have chosen the packs offered by broadcasters such as Star TV, Zee, Colors etc.
This clearly shows that the control to distribute and allocate channels still reside with the cable and DTH operators, rather than the broadcasters.
Hathaway has 1 crore cable TV customers pan-India.
Aniruddhasinhji also informed that only 30% of their customers have actually opted for any new channel packs, under the TRAI’s new Cable TV regime.
