OnePlus Declares Triple Profit In India, Redmi Note 7 Leaked Completely!
OnePlus is giving a good fight to Xiaomi's dominance in India.
Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus continues to dominate the Indian premium smartphone market beating Samsung and Apple. The profits have seen a major jump in India with revenue growing over three times in 2017-18.
Last year, OnePlus held the second spot in the Rs 30,000-plus segment.
OnePlus India has generated over Rs 150 crore in revenue in 2017-18. Comparing it to 2016-17, OnePlus generated Rs 37.9 crore in revenue in India. The overall net profit for the year now stands at Rs 2.8 crore. It was Rs 90.1 lakh in profit in the last fiscal.
Entry Premium Flagships: The New Key To Success?
OnePlus has always marketed their smartphones as an entry-premium flagship offering the best in industry specs at an lesser price compared to other flagships. OnePlus overtook both Apple and Samsung in the first six months of 2017-18.
The company sells its smartphones online exclusively via Amazon and OnePlus site. OnePlus smartphones are now available offline via Croma and Reliance Digital stores as well.
With over a 40 percent market share in the first quarter of the current financial year, OnePlus currently is the largest premium smartphone brand in country. OnePlus does not operate in other price categories unlike Apple or Samsung, OnePlus’ sales remains limited to just 5 percent of the market in the Rs 30,000-plus premium range.
Redmi Note 7 Specs Confirmed, Imminent Launch Expected
After Xiaomi spinned off Redmi to re-launch it as a sub-brand, it’s been boosting up to launch a streak of smartphones. After Redmi 2 Pro and Redmi 7, the new Redmi Note 7 has been spotted on Geekbench hinting at an imminent launch.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is found with the old Snapdragon 660 chipset on the certification site, the same Xiaomi uses for its second generation Android One smartphone, Mi A2.
Looking at the graph how Xiaomi is working on its phones, we don’t expect to see much of anything on the upcoming Redmi Note 7. Redmi Note 6 Pro is already struggling against Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 and Realme 2 Pro.
The company still sells Redmi Note 5 Pro, and is banking on its past phones to stay in the competition. Redmi Note 7 is expected to borrow the cameras from the Redmi Note 6 Pro or Mi A2, or may come as a re-toned version of Mi A2. The previous leak also hinted at a glossy rear panel, similar to Honor and Realme smartphones.

Owing to the growing competition, Xiaomi has now permanently decreased the prices of both the variants of Mi A2. The smartphone have received a major  price drop of up to Rs 3,000. The base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage now costs Rs 13,999 in India, same as Redmi Note 6 Pro.
While the top end 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage has dropped to Rs 15,999.
The new prices are now effective. Mi A3 is already in talks, and we may get to see the third generation Xiaomi Mi A series very soon. Mi A1 remained a top seller in India, but Mi A2 struggled to repeat the success. The new prices bring Mi A2 at the same level with Asus and Realme, so we expect to see some good fight out there in the sub-15,000 segment.
