What Makes Nokia 6 Good?
When compared to other premium devices at this range, Nokia 6 has only a handful of things to offer.
1. Premium Build
On the outside, Nokia 6 has a premium metal built (aluminium) which can be compared to some of the more expensive flagships.
2. Sharp Display
The 5.5 inch Full HD display is crisp with good brightness, sharp contrast and great sunlight legibility.
3. Audio Output is Great
With a pair of stereo speakers, the spatial audio output on Nokia 6 is surprisingly good. The overall audio quality is well above average.
4. Better Battery
Nokia 6 offers a pretty good battery life too with average usage. It can easily last for a whole working day.
What Makes Nokia 6 not Worth the Price?
Nokia 6 loses out on a number of things, that it’s competitors are offering at this price (some, costing even lesser).
1. User Interface
The UI on Nokia is a bit lacklustre. The bluish circular icons are very difficult to differentiate, and overall the interface is bit complicated.
2. Downgraded Processor
The Snapdragon 430 chipset is a little dated. Though the UI works fine with the navigation and basic tasks, but Nokia 6 loses out on smoothness when it comes to intense multitasking. At this price, at least a Snapdragon 625 or Snapdragon 630 would have been a better choice.
3. Average Camera
Both the rear and front cameras are low on contrast and colour saturation. Details are average, but the image quality isn’t good at all. The videos too suffer from low contrast and detailing.
Best Alternatives to Nokia 6
At the same price as the Nokia 6, there are a number of better alternatives, which outperform Nokia 6 by quite a few miles.
1. Redmi Note 4
With a metal unibody design and Snapdragon 625, this device outperforms any phone at this price range. With an above average camera, better processor and mammoth 4100 mAh battery, it performs like a beast.
2. Moto G5 Plus
The newest phone from the Moto G series, the Moto G5 Plus comes with a Snapdragon 625, and performs really well with multitasking. But the best part is the camera. Moto G5 Plus easily has the best camera in this price range. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
3. Honor 6X
The Honor 6X with a dual-camera and octa-core processor has a lot to offer. It has a good battery, and supports fast charging. It supports VoLTE and runs Android Marshmallow.
