Quikr Launches Quikr Doorstep to Provide Online Payments, Pick-up and Delivery



Quikr.com, India’s largest classifieds site today announced launch of Quikr Doorstep, a move to facilitate more ECommerce transactions on the portal. Quikr Doorstep essentially brings convenience of ecommerce to classified listings and takes care of end-to-end process of buying and selling.

With Quikr’s messaging platform in place, a buyer and seller can do negotiations online, and with and doorstep feature Buyer can make payment securely and the seller can use the pick-up and delivery facility to ship goods directly to buyer. The feature is available across various categories including mobile phones, electronics, household furniture among others.

For safety of payments, the Doorstep feature provides an escrow account which ensures that transactions are safe for buyers.

Quikr has rolled out the Doorstep service on its app, mobile site, desktop site as well as Quikr NXT, its pioneering messaging service that allows consumers to make negotiations and payments real time.

Quikr’s move towards pre-owned Goods ECommerce

Quikr has already established itself as the largest classifieds site in India. However, monetization opportunities on vanilla classified listings are very small. Over couple of years or so, Quikr is looking to make it easy and safe not only to post classifieds, but also to facilitating buyers and sellers to complete the entire transaction through it’s platform.

If buyers and sellers transact on the platform itself, many monetization opportunities open up due to payment processing and logistics services offered.

Quikr has been quite aggressive over past 12-18 months and with launch of Doorstep, they now have strongly moved into ECommerce space. It will be interesting to see how OLX responds to this.
