TimesCity.com Acquires Dineout.co.in

TimesCity.com, the restaurant review and food guide portal from Times Internet stable has today announced acquisition of Dineout.co.in, a restaurant reservation and booking service that operates in Delhi and Mumbai currently.

This strategic acquisition will allow TimesCity.com to extend their offerings to table booking service, which not present on their site currently.

TimesCity has been growing steadily over past 12 to 18 months. They now attract close to 2 million visitors on their site and with acquisition of DineOut, their traffic should see further rise.

Delhi based Dineout currently operates in Delhi, NCR & Mumbai regions and offers consumers to book a table either online or through the phone at their favorite restaurants in town, while availing exciting discounts. According to the press release, Dineout has done over 200,000 reservations till date.

According to founders of Dineout, they were already powering table reservations for Timescity and merging with them was a natural progression.

Competition

As far as restaurant reviews and food guides go, Zomato currently rules the Indian market with both their web platforms and mobile app being very popular with Indian consumers. According to similarweb numbers, Zomato attracts over 5 million visitors a month on their site and their mobile app has been downloaded over 2 million times on Android and iOS platforms.

Their other competition is burrp.com, who offer similar services attract marginally more traffic than TimesCity does.

With Dineout’s acquisition, they are sure to see a bump in their traffic on web as well as mobile app downloads.
