Take a Break at your Work, It’s a Life-saver [Infographic]
I am guilty of working long hours (like many of you) without taking a break – And most of us know how detrimental it is to our health (and productivity as well). However, we still ignore it or just forget about it after some time.
Taking small breaks of even 5 minutes every couple of hours can potentially be the biggest favour you will do to your health as well as to your work. This is true especially for IT professionals. They tend to work long hours, sitting in one place, staring at the screen for hours together.
Did you know that working non-stop without taking a break can increase your chances of weight gain, heart disease and worse. Staring at a computer screen for more than 2 hours continuously per day can cause Computer Vision Syndrome, a real affliction, which causes blurry vision, headaches, dry eyes and can lead to long-term nearsightedness.
Infact, just standing at your desk instead of sitting can make lot of difference, not to mention burning of calories, that too in tune of 2500 calories per week.
I stumbled across this great infographic, created by the folks over at learnstuff.com that puts forth the issues caused by working non-stop and benefits to you and your health if you take small breaks while working.
I’d suggest you print and put it up on your board where it will remind you the importance of taking a break!
So, have you taken the much needed break?
