Reliance has silently launched the cheapest smartphones in its LYF series, Flame 3 and Flame 4, adding to the existing portfolio of Flame 1 and Flame 2 smartphones. Reliance will be launching LYF smartphones under the Flame, Earth, Water and Wind series.

Flame 1 and Flame 2 smartphones were also launched recently at price points of Rs. 5,599 and Rs. 4,799, which left enough room for Reliance to launch a cheaper LTE-enabled smartphone.

Both the budget smartphones have been launched at Rs 3,999 and support 4G LTE with Voice over LTE(VoLTE). VoLTE allows you to experience high definition voice and video calling on an LTE network. This makes all third party apps redundant and provides you excellent video and voice quality on the smartphone.

LYF Flame 3 Specifications

LYF Flame 3

  • 4-inch capacitive touchscreen with 480×800 pixels and Asahi Dragontrail Glass
  • 1.5GHz quad-core processor coupled with 512MB RAM and Mali 400 MP2 @ 500MHz
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box
  • Internal memory of 4GB expandable upto 32GB using a microSD card
  • 5MP rear camera with LED flash and face detection, 2MP front-facing camera
  • Dual sim(4G+2G), only one slot can be used for 4G at a time
  • 1400 mAh Li-ion battery
  • Available only in Grey colour as of now

Weighing at 110gms the smartphone seems okay for the specifications it offers, except for RAM. A 1GB RAM is a minimum that you need to have on a smartphone in today’s day and time! At a price point of Rs 4,000, the phone cannot be expected to offer a delightful experience, but considering it supports VoLTE, it can attract a lot of customers looking for just that.

LYF Flame 4 Specifications

LYF Flame 4

The Flame 4 weighs slightly heavier at 117gms, but the difference is negligible to compare. Both the smartphones have small differences which could matter a lot to the customers.

Flame 3 is available exclusively on HomeShop18.com, while Flame 4 is available at offline stores like Reliance Digital, Jumbo Electronics and Spice Retail etc.

What’s good in Flame 3 and 4? The phones are definitely on the cheaper side and come with Reliance’s commitment. The specifications are not too bad for a first time smartphone user.

At Rs. 3,999, you will not get another phone with a good processor, sizeable internal storage and decent cameras along with the USP, VoLTE, at such a price. Top it up with Reliance Jio 4G network and the experience would be a whole lot better!
