While Samsung and other smartphone manufacturers have already launched their foldable smartphones, tech giant Apple announced that a foldable iPhone is nowhere near in sight.
In fact, the company has stated that a foldable Apple device might be launched as late as 2025. Also, this first foldable device is not going to be a smartphone, it will be a foldable iPad.

Apple To Launch Foldable iPhones, iPads by 2024
A new report by CCS Insight has suggested that Apple is introducing a new folding iPad in two years, i.e., 2024. This might be followed by a foldable iPhone by the year 2025.
Android phone manufacturers are able to keep the foldable launches to a single series, like the Samsung Galaxy Z-series, while more conventional designs continue to fill store shelves because they have multiple launches each year across various series and price points.
Whereas, Apple only releases a maximum of four iPhones per year (with the exception of the iPhone SE), all of which are in the same “series.”
As per Ben Wood, chief of research at CCS Insight, “right now it doesn’t make sense for Apple to make a foldable iPhone. We think they will shun that trend and probably dip a toe in the water with a foldable iPad. A folding iPhone will be super high risk for Apple. Firstly, it would have to be incredibly expensive in order to not cannibalise the existing iPhones.”
Foldable iPhones To Cost $2500!
Annual iPad sales are way smaller than iPhone sales, which gives Apple an advantage of experimenting with foldable devices. As per the analyst, the first foldable iPhone could cost around $2500, which is twice of the Galaxy Z fold series.
Wood also said that Apple will need to take extra precautions with its foldable products because if the company encounters any technical problems with them, the makers wont be spared by the critics.
The prices of foldable smartphones from Samsung and Motorola are already sky-high, despite this not being their first foldable device.
