Australian Government  Migration Program

The program is mainly aimed to boost the economic recovery of the country which is still reeling from Pandemic woes.

It is designed to enhance and drive social cohesion outcomes in the post-pandemic environment.

Further, the Migration Program will have a planning level of 160,000 places, as per the official documents.

Migration Program Distribution

Moreover, these places are further distributed in the following composition.

Skill Visa

With 109,900 places, this stream is designed to improve the productive capacity of the economy.

This will also fill the skill shortages in the labour market, including those in regional Australia.

Family Visa

With 50,000 places, this stream is predominantly made up of Partner visas.

This way enables Australians to reunite with family members from overseas and provide them with pathways to citizenship.

Partner Visas

When it comes to partner visas, it will be granted on a demand-driven basis from 2022-23 to facilitate family reunification.

This is also aimed to  reduce the Partner visa pipeline and processing times for many applicants.

For planning purposes, 40,500 Partner visas are estimated for 2022-23.

It is noteworthy here that this estimate is not subject to a ceiling.

Child Visas

State-Nominated Visas

Under this program, the State and territory authorities can nominate skilled individuals for visas.

It is noteworthy here that these visa holders don’t have to be tied to a particular employer but there is an age criteria.

According to this, the individual has to be aged under 45 years old.

So they have to find their own position.
