The festive season in the country is almost here and with this, it can be assured that there will be an upsurge in movements of people from one part of the country to other. This means it will become more difficult to get one’s hands over travel tickets.

The national transporter, Indian Railways will again be the most preferred medium of travel across the country.

Every year, ahead of the festive season, the Railways’ online ticket booking platform Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation or IRCTC becomes more difficult to operate, as it is filled with glitches and takes longer than normal days to confirm the bookings.

This is understood as the period sees a large upsurge on the IRCTC platform. 

In order to make the lives of travellers easier, especially during this time of the year, the Indian Railways has been reported to have entered into an agreement with a globally leading consulting firm to make its IRCTC website as user-friendly as possible.

Indian Railways Ties Up With Global Consulting Major

Travellers of Indian Railways have often complained about the delay in ticket bookings and confirmation of booked tickets on the IRCTC site, led by a slow loading time.

This creates more hassle than usual during festive seasons.

However, taking action on the issued complaints, Indian Railways has appointed an international consultant to fill the gaps on the IRCTC platform.

A Zee report states that if the IRCTC website manages to refurbish ahead of the festive season, passengers could enjoy a smooth experience of booking tickets and Tatkal tickets online.

Indian Railways has tied up with Grant Thornton, among the leading consulting firms in the country for making the IRCTC platform easy to traverse through.

The Railway Ministry had earlier too assured the Parliamentary Standing Committee of resolving the issue of slow server.
