Contents

Trim, Color, Charger Options

It will be offered in two trim options – the Nexon EV MAX XZ+ and Nexon EV MAX XZ+ Lux.

It also gets 3 new color options – Intensi-Teal, Daytona Grey and Pristine White.

Customers can choose from a 3.3 kW charger or a 7.2 kW AC fast charger which can help reduce charging time to 6.5 hrs.

The car also supports a faster charging time of 0 – 80 per cent in around 56 mins from a 50 kW DC fast charger.

Interior

The interior gets a unique beige theme to differentiate it from its standard sibling.

Features inside include illuminated gear knob with park mode, wireless charging, air purifier and cooled seats.

Safety

In terms of safety, the SUV gets ESP, Hill Hold assist, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Vehicle Hold and 4-Disc brakes.

The carmaker has also introduced Multi-Mode Regen with four regen levels for braking.

The auto brake lamp function activates once a certain level of regen is reached, effectively warning the road users behind.

What’s Different?

It is Rs 1.79 lakh more expensive than the Nexon EV, and is about 100 kgs heavier.

Vivek Srivatsa of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility said that the aim of this new vehicle is to provide more range, more power, and faster charging while improving the overall driving efficiency.

What’s Unique?

It is powered by the automaker’s Ziptron technology which is its state-of-the-art high voltage EV architecture.

It has been designed specifically for Indian driving and weather conditions.

It gives the car significantly enhanced range, safety, and performance, as Anand Kulkarni of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility puts it.

Power, Range, Acceleration

It is claimed to have an ARAI-certified driving range of 437km but expect real-world range to be around 300 km.

The higher range  is thanks to its larger 40.5kWh battery pack, which is around 10kWh more than the standard Nexon.

Despite having a bigger battery pack, its boot capacity remains unchanged at 350-liter.

The MAX comes with a 140hp electric motor that churns out 250 Nm of torque, 14hp more than the standard Nexon EV.

It can go from 0 to 100 in under 9 secs, claims Tata Motors.

Price, Competition

It is priced at Rs 17.74 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.24 lakh for the top-spec Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux.

Deliveries will begin soon.

It can be an affordable alternative to the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona, with their certified range being 461 km and 452 km, respectively.
