Pixel Prototype Appearance

It seems that the companies’ protect-the-IP-at-all-cost approach has shifted, over the past decades.

But, again one can not deny the power of well-timed leaks.

It doesn’t mean that any of the Pixel Watch news in the recent weeks and months has been intentional.

This weekend’s restaurant leak comes a few days after a trademark application for “Pixel Watch” popped up online.

Imminent Announcement Of Pixel

In close observation, its timing seems to point to the imminent announcement of the moderately anticipated wearable.

At the very least, it will most probably launch in mid-May.

Here, Google really needs to make a splash as it’s been 7.5 years since the company launched Android Wear.

The wearable arrived with plenty of hardware partners including companies like Motorola, Samsung, LG and HTC.

Although, Samsung drifted away from Android Wear quickly as it opted to develop its own unique flavor of Tizen.

On the other hand, Motorola has moved to Moto Watch recently.

OS for its latest device — it’s a lightweight RTOS (real-time operating system) similar to what OnePlus uses on its watches.

It seems that Google’s wearable operating system continued to stagnate for a number of years, as Apple and to some extent Samsung dominated the smartwatch category.

Wear OS

During 2018, Wear OS by Google represented a shot at a free start.

That time, the company wrote in a post, “We’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible with wearables and there’s even more exciting work ahead,” the.

Although, this change didn’t result in a massive shift in market share.

But a number of more recent moves of  reunion with Samsung have helped move the needle.

As a result, “The new Wear OS Powered by Samsung” finds the firms joining forces in a bid to go toe to toe with Apple, starting with the Galaxy Watch 4.

In this deal, for Samsung, it means access to Play apps and the Third-party support has long been a major sticking point for the industry.

While in the case of Google, it means suddenly having their operating system on a LOT more devices.

Pixel Feature And Specification

At the time, Wear OS VP Stacey Burr said “Wearables, built for wellness, simplicity, personalization and helpfulness, have the opportunity to improve lives by bringing users the information and insights they need quickly, at a glance,”.

Considering the recency of the Fitbit acquisition, it’s hard to know exactly how much of its tech would make it into a first-gen Pixel Watch.

But we cannot deny that the subsidiary’s strong health focus will play a central role in Google wearables, going forward.

Besides this, the firm is still developing some important stuff, including a new always-on A-Fib detector.

It seems that Pixel division underwent a reckoning/restructure after years of middling sales.

As a result, it has given us the truly excellent Pixel 6 even if their sales haven’t reflected it.

Comin got the prototype left at a bar, it’s round, with a glass back and a crown that appears to function similarly to the Apple Watch.

Further, this device sports a proprietary band and a pair of buttons around the edges.
