Google New, Useful Update: Android Users Can Now Delete Last 15 Minutes Of Search!

Google’s latest update will allow Android users to delete the last 15 minutes of search history. Google had announced in its 2021 I/O conference some new features coming to mobile search. Android users will also be able to delete the last 15 minutes of their search history through the latest update.

The person who noticed this feature first

The feature had been first noticed by Mishaal Rahman of XDA Developers. He claimed that he was tipped about the update that is currently being released.

“At Google I/O 2021, Google announced it’d roll out an option to delete the last 15 minutes of your search history. This rolled out on iOS in July 2021 but was said to be made available on Android later. Well, it appears to now be rolling out!” — Mishaal Rahman (@MishaalRahman) March 18, 2022.

How to use this new feature?

To check if the feature is available on your device, you can open the default Google app on their Android phones and tap the profile picture icon. This opens an account settings page, which will display a new option, which will let you delete the last 15 minutes of search history.

Google had released this update on iOS devices in July 2021, but had failed to meet its first deadline for the Android release. The update is expected to be rolled out to everyone in the upcoming weeks, and can only be used on the default Google search app. People can access this feature by tapping the search bar on the home screen or by simply sliding up on their device.

The company had not clarified whether it plans on bringing the feature to desktop, as during last year’s I/O event, they never specified what the targeted platforms are. Until July, Google had not launched the feature for iOS and is now expanding onto Android.

Google’s annual developer conference

In 2022, Google is going to host its annual developer conference on 11th and 12th May, live from the company’s Shoreline Amphitheatre at the Mountain View headquarters, and the event will be streamed online for free. The live event is going to be invite-only.
