PAN-Aadhar linking is mandatory
All SBI customers across India have been alerted about the essential PAN-Aadhaar card linking deadline which is March 31, 2022. SBI has issued an advisory statement to customers to ensure that this mandatory task gets done. This is so that customers’ banking services will not be impacted. Without linking by due date, the PAN of the customer will become inoperative/inactive for carrying out various banking transactions.
Bank has alerted customers via SMS
If customers do not update their bank account KYC, SBI is going to close their account. The bank alerted customers via SMS to get their KYC updated. 31st March is the last date to update the KYC. Thousands and thousands of bank account KYCs are yet to be updated under the regional offices of SBI.
SBI’s Tweet
The bank has also asked its customers via a tweet to link their PAN card to their Aadhar before 31st March or else they will face problems in utilising bank services from 1st April. Transaction services will also be halted for such accounts.
“We advise our customers to link their PAN with Aadhaar to avoid any inconvenience and continue enjoying a seamless banking service,” SBI tweeted, adding that “If not linked, PAN will be rendered inoperative/inactive and cannot be used for carrying out specific transactions.”

Keeping in mind the pandemic situation, the deadline of Aadhaar-PAN linking was extended by the bank from September 30, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
