Govt Develops This New Technology To Kill Covid-19 Virus Inside Trains, Buses, Closed Spaces: How It Works?

Humans are a very inquisitive species. Come may what problem, they face it with a brave face and try to overcome it. Two years ago humans all over the world were shaken up by a tiny but might virus called the coronavirus. Even though this virus has turned our world upside down, humans are unrelentingly fighting it and coming up with ways to beat it.

Recently, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) come up with a technology, which will make traveling a lot safer.

New UV-C technology mitigates airborne transmission of SARS-COV-2

As the country is battling with the third wave of the pandemic new technology developed by the Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research (CSIR) might ease the troubles. The new UV-C technology is being installed in Railway coaches, AC buses, closed spaces.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the UV-C technology developed by the Ministry of Science & Technology through CSIR-CSIO is totally effective for mitigation of airborne transmission of SARS-COV-2 and will also remain relevant in the post-COVID era.

The UV-C Disinfection Technology has been successfully tested for one month in Railways coaches from Bandra to Chandigarh covering a distance of 1000 kilometers. It should be noted that RDSO (Research Designs and Standards Organisation), Lucknow has recommended the use of this technology in all Railways coaches in a phased manner.

The technology is already being implemented in various places

The minister also said that the technology has been installed in the Central Hall, Lok Sabha Chamber, and Committee Rooms 62 and 63 in July, last year ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

The UV technology is successfully being used in AC Buses of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) and informed that his Ministry is eager to carry forward for all Passenger Transport Vehicles.

The technology, which has also been installed in the Parliament House, is now open for general roll-out for use by the common masses.

The UV-C air duct disinfection system can be used in auditoriums, large conference rooms, classrooms, malls, etc. which provides a relatively safer environment for indoor activities in the current pandemic.

The minister also said that CSIR will write to the Election Commission of India to use this technology for limited-capacity indoor meetings for the ensuing Assembly polls in 5 states in the wake of the ban on physical rallies and roadshows for a specified period of time.
