BGMI Will Ban Player Devices
In a release dated Dec 23, the renowned online multiplayer battle BGMI has stated that it will permanently ban the devices of players on detecting cheating in the game using illegal programs, starting Dec 24, in order to provide fair gameplay and eliminate the use of illegal programs, stated the game’s publisher Krafton.
The company also added that up until now sanctions were given only to the accounts but starting Dec 24, mobile devices of unfair game users will be banned as well.
The game usually bans players’ accounts if they are using an unofficial or modified version of the game, or have illegal auxiliary programs which help them cheat, states a syndicated report.
The new policy will make it difficult for players to cheat without getting their devices banned.
It adds, “We will continuously strive to eradicate any unfair gameplay, especially the use of illegal programs to provide our fans the utmost pleasant gaming experience.”
Thus, in order to get back into the game, the only option remaining for users will be to create a fresh account on a new device, thereby losing all one’s earned in the previous game, states an India Today report.
Almost 1 Lakh Users Banned Under a Week
Krafton has been making its policy around cheating stricter for gamers. In just a week’s time, the developer has banned 99,583 players.
Prior to this, the publisher had banned more than 25 lakh game accounts, along with introducing a new anti-cheat mechanism.
“The hack detection system was able to detect and monitor hackers in real-time. Over 1 month, the company collected data for over 25 lakh users plus the new 1 lakh users, who were using illegal programs and hacks”, added the report.
Also, next month onwards, the game will stop supporting transfers from PUBG Mobile, after Dec 31.
