According to the interview with the publication, a senior official of the Indian Railways stated that these hostesses will be greeting passengers, serving food, and dealing with passenger complaints on the Indian Railways’ premium trains so they must be trained in the field of hospitality service.

To compete with airline services, train attendants must equal the hospitality standards found on flights, according to the official.They also stated that the hostesses would only work during the day and would not be enlisted for overnight services.

Around 25 premium trains are now running on Indian Railways’ tracks.
