Apple Can Replace All iPhones With Advanced AR Costing Upto Rs 2.25 Lakh! How Will It Work?

Cupertino based tech giant Apple now has plans to launch headsets based on augmented reality in 2022. 

We have been hearing rumours about the companies headset ever since 2018 and now finally there is some research about the much awaited Apple AR headset.

Apple To Launch AR Headsets In Last Quarter Of Next Year 

A new research note from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that the Apple AR headsets might be launched in the fourth quarter of 2022. 

A patent about the same was first spotted in February 2018. 

In the next year, i.e. 2019, another patent was filed by Apple for an AR/VR headset. In the same year, there were hints in the internal build of iOS 13 that suggested that Apple might be testing AR headsets. Kuo had also suggested that the Cupertino giant launch the AR headset in the second quarter of 2020.

As per the reports by Kuo, there will be two chipsets that will be powering the AR headset, One of which will be as powerful as the M1 chip that has been installed on the MacBooks from 2020. The second chip will be a lower-end chip that will handle input from the number of sensors.

Headsets To Have 6-8 Optical Modules To Provide Video See-Through AR Services

As per Kuo, the AR headset will require at least 6-8 optical modules that will provide continuous video see-through AR services simultaneously. There also is a possibility that the AR headset might also come with two 4K OLED microdisplays manufactured by Sony. The headset will probably come with support for VR.

Additionally, Kuo has suggested that AR headset would be positioned as a standalone product instead of an accessory to iPhone or Mac.

As per the research note by Kuo, “If the AR headset is positioned only as an accessory for the Mac or iPhone, it will not be conducive to the growth of the product. An AR headset that works independently means that it will have its own ecosystem and provide the most complete and flexible user experience.”

Kuo has also suggested that AR could be the new goal for the Cupertino giant as the headset needs to work with a “wide range” of applications instead of those compatible with the selected apps. 

If Apple plans to replace the iPhone with AR in ten years, it would mean Apple would have to sell at least one billion AR devices in 10 years.

Of course, the price of the headset is beyond par as per rumors; they will be priced somewhere between $1,000 to $3,000.
