In a bizarre case, SBI employees not only refused to provide any help to a SBI customer because he was a wearing shorts; but also told to wear full pants!

This is what happened..

A SBI customer whose twitter handle is @ajzone008, and lives near to Calcutta, had to enquire about closing down an account, and visited a nearby SBI branch.

Actual name of the SBI branch has been withheld.

He was wearing shorts, and this irked the SBI employees there.

As soon as he entered the branch, one SBI employee, a peon asked him to wear full pants and then come to the branch.

In a Reddit post, he said, “I went to the branch today to get this done, as soon as I entered one of the peons at the branch asked me to come back wearing “Full Pants” as wearing shorts is against customer decorum.”

Soon, other SBI employees joined the peon, and they all forced the customer to wear full pants in order to avail services. 

When he asked which rules state that SBI customers need to wear full pants before entering any branch, another SBI employee said, ” You go to office wearing shorts too?”

Services Denied Due To Shorts?

As per the story posted by @ajzone008 on Reddit, he had arguments over this dress related issue for some time, and he refused to wear full pants in order to avail services.

Finally, he went to a clerk to seek answers to his questions about closing down account, and he was refused any help.

The story has been shared on Reddit India subreddit, and on Twitter, and incited hundreds of responses and replies.

There has been no reply from SBI, and there has been no verification or sharing any evidence from the user @ajzone008 as well, regarding this bizarre case.

We haven’t been able to independently verify this story, and it based on the tweet and Reddit India thread.
