In a shocking development, all schools in New Delhi have been shut down due to record pollution in the city. Infact, all citizens in Delhi has been asked to stay indoors, and not venture out.

Delhi: All Schools Shut Down For 7 Days
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has declared that children in Delhi need not intake polluted air, and spoil their health.
Hence, all schools in India’s national capital has been shut down for a week.
He said, “Starting Monday, schools are being shut so that children don’t have to breathe polluted air,”
Besides, all construction related activities have been banned for 4 days, to reduce the pollution.
On Friday, the central pollution control board had issued an unprecedented advisory for all citizens in New Delhi, asking them to stay indoors, as Delhi has literally turned into a gas chamber right now.
Delhi: Most Polluted Indian City
India’s National Capital New Delhi is infamous for being the most polluted city in India, and among the top 5 polluted cities in the world.
On Saturday (yesterday), the PM 2.5 particles in Delhi air touched 300, which is 20-times more than the maximum limit of air pollution as prescribed by WHO.
This shows the emergency situation in New Delhi.
PM 2.5 particles are the smallest, most harmful air particles that can sabotage a human’s health.
And this has led to a surge in patients visiting hospitals.
Dr Suranjit Chatterjee from Apollo Hospitals said, “We are getting 12 to 14 patients daily in the emergency, mostly at night, when the symptoms cause disturbed sleep and panic,”
The Supreme Court has expressed its shock and disappointment over this increase in pollution, as India’s chief justice, NV Ramana said, “How will we live otherwise?”
