Youtube Will Hide Dislike Counts, But Viewers Can Still Dislike Videos! (How Will It Work?)
So what happens when you are about to watch a youtube video and do not see the no of dislikes?
I think we all would go neutral, without judging, we would proceed to absorb the content rather than follow the mass who targets to spread hate.
So it appears that YouTube was experimenting with the feature where one can hide dislikes and it was a success.
YouTube’s Experiment With Hiding DislikesÂ
The Feature that will keep the dislike numbers private on YouTube.
But it will still affect your recommendations, just that you won’t see the numbers as a viewer but as a creator or the producer, one can see the button and the count as well.
How It Will Help Small Creators?
According to YouTube, dislike campaigns target new and smaller producers more frequently, and the test reduced harassment.
The move is intended to establish an “inclusive and respectful” environment.
How?
Youtube Creators especially those who have just started uploading videos, would feel comfortable. So when one visit their channel and watch a certain video, the person won’t judge before even seeing the content.
There’s no guarantee that this benefit will be available to all users, or that it won’t drive persistent harassers to seek out other options.
Nonetheless, this may deter ‘casual’ usage of the dislike button.
