Pixel 6 Pro Shines In DxOMark Rating, Beats iPhone 13 Pro: Best Camera Phone?

Pixel 6 Pro has grabbed a spot in the top ten list of the best camera phones by DXOMARK. The new Google phone achieved an overall score of 135 points. ranked sixth below iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro and Huawei Mate 40 Pro. Google Pixel 6 Pro scored 143 in the photo department , 71 in zoom and 115 in video segment. DXOMARK lauded the Pixel 6 Pro for good details in bright light, indoor images and videos with good shadow detail and contrast.

Pixel 6 Pro has a new 4x telephoto lens specifically in the zoom category. Pixel 6 Pro did beat its biggest competitor iPhone 13 Pro Max in exposure and texture. 

DXOMARK appreciated Google Pixel 6 Pro for very accurate detailing in long range tele shots, video stabilisation, good exposure and wide dynamic range in videos.

Coming to negatives, DXOMARK pointed out Pixel 6 Pro does not perform  upto the mark with depth of field in blurry background in group shots, has noise in indoor and low-light images with errors and instabilities in depth estimation and bokeh shots. Pixel 6 Pro reportedly also said not to offer bokeh blur effect preview and ultra-wide camera does not go wide as the competition.

Also, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are not coming to India because of multiple factors. As stated by the company spokesperson earlier in an email to Gadgets360, “Pixel 6 series won’t launch in India due to a variety of factors including global demand-supply issues, we are not able to make our products available in all markets”.

The spokesperson further added that Google will remain committed to the current Pixel phones and look forward to bringing future Pixel devices to more countries in the future. Pixel 6 phones are the first Google phones to come with an in-house Tensor chipset, a 50MP primary camera, Android 12 OS and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Pixel 6 series don a brand new design with a horizontal camera bar at the back, punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
