Good news for Mumbaikars!

Maharashtra government on Sunday permitted the Central and Western Railway to restart issuing of daily tickets on their suburban railway network for all!

People who use to travel in local trains on the suburban railway network in Mumbai and surrounding cities are now allowed to buy daily tickets for single or return journeys.

This move will further help to cope up with the demand but the only mandatory condition is one must be fully vaccinated and must stay in home for 14 days after vaccination.

Mumbai Local Train Travel Rules

A statement issued by Aseem Gupta, principal secretary, Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation.

“As one time ticketing was allowed on long distance passenger trains before too, this relaxation means that all fully vaccinated residents may travel in local and passenger trains on all routes and through all kinds of tickets that may be issued by railways including daily ticketing. Being fully vaccinated will be the only mandatory condition for issuance of any kind of tickets for travel in trains.”

Relaxation In Travel Rules For Below 18 Years

People below 18 years who are not eligible for vaccination were allowed to board local trains in Mumbai. But people must ensure that they take care of the rules such as Use of masks and Social distancing and sanitisation in the college campus to prevent -19 outbreak.

During October the state administration added a few more points that need to be followed. Firstly all the people must take both doses of a Covid vaccine (and have been 14 days since the second).

But in case someone has any medical condition that prevents them from taking a shot needs a doctor’s certificate to prove it.

“There will be many who despite having the intention of getting fully vaccinated are not eligible due to medical conditions or because they are less than 18 years of age and so such persons should be allowed to render or receive such services”.
