Indian Railways plans to restore certain services and one of them is the restoration of on-board catering services.
Before the pandemic, there was an on-board catering service in trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto etc.

In the last week of October 2021, the Passenger Amenities Committee, a statutory organisation body under the Ministry of Railways, will discuss regular catering services in trains.
The probable dates of the meeting are supposed to happen on October 22 or 23. According to sources reported in a ZeeBiz report, these services in the trains will be available soon.

Other crucial topics like establishing a base kitchen and an onboard kitchen service will also be discussed in the meeting.
The Indian Railway Food and Tourism Corporation has given no official statement regarding the meeting or the resumption of catering services.
