Punch, Tata’s Rs 5 Lakh SUV Becomes Safest Indian Car; Gets 5-Star In Global NCAP Test
Tata Punch has become India’s safest car after scoring a full 5-star rating from Global NCAP.
It scored 16.45 out of 17 points for adult safety, becoming the third Tata model to get a 5-Star rating in the category.
Third Tata Car Achievement
The other two Tata models to receive the recognition are Altroz in January 2020 and Nexon in December 2018.
It also surpassed the Mahindra XUV 300, which was the leader till now with 16.42 score.
It was put through crash testing by the safety rating agency and came out on top for adult occupant protection.
Size Matters Not
It may not come as a huge surprise given Tata’s recent track record and its commitment towards building safer cars.

The body shell and footwell were rated stable and capable of withstanding further loading.
Coming to child safety, the head and chest were protected thanks to dual airbags, ABS (anti lock brakes), and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
