Central employees have now started receiving a dearness allowance of 28% from September. But newest reports have suggested that the government will soon be given dearness allowance of June by adding it.

31% Dearness Allowance Will Be Awarded To Central Government Employees
The arrears of 18 months will now be awarded to the employees, who will receive a dearness allowance of 31%, instead of 28%.
This signifies an increase of 3%; however, the dearness allowance of June 2021 hasnt been decided yet. As per the data by AICPI for January to May 2021, 3% dearness allowance will be increased further. JCM Secretary (Staff Side) Shiv Gopal Mishra has revealed that it is too soon to announce it. Also, it hasn’t been decided when it will be paid.
The Central Government has removed the ban on freezing dearness allowance for the last 18 months. This means that the DA of the employees has now been hiked by 11%. For about eighteen months now, the Dearness Allowance for central government employees and Dearness Relief for central government pensioners for three pending installments has been suspended.
While the finance ministry had informed that the pending DA instalments for all the recipients will be restored as and when the decision is taken, initially this date was set for July 1, 2021.
However, in a Cabinet meeting conducted on June 26, many positive news was released for central government employees and pensioners, as expected.
Govt Restored Pending DA Installments in September
In August, we reported to you that the central government had announced a hike of 28% in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief for its employees before. The earlier figure was 17% for DA but after the announcement the figure rose to 28% to come into effect from July this year.
This means that instead of July 1, 2021, the three pending installments of DA payment for all 1.13 crore recipients will be restored with the September salaries.
In March 2020, the Minister of State for Finance, Anurag Thakur announced a hike/revision of 4% in the Dearness Allowance received by central govt employees and pensioners, meaning they would receive a DA hike of 21% from 17%.
However, the DA was further hiked by 3% in June 2020, followed by another hike of 4%, leading to a cumulative hike of 7%. This means the recipients would receive a DA at 28%, on adding the three pending instalments.
The central government employees are currently getting 17% DA.
