After suffering slack down because of the pandemic for more than a year now, the Indian Economy is ready to get back on track. As the season of festivities is coming back to India, so is the launching of much-awaited vehicles. A few days back the house of Tatas had unveiled a subcompact, micro SUV, Tata Punch. And now the automaker has announced openings of bookings as well.

Book Tata Punch from October 4

According to the press release by Tata Motors, Tata Punch the micro SUV will be available for booking from next week. The automaker has confirmed that the bookings will officially start on October 4. On the same day, detailed specifications of the car will be released for customers.

It should be noted that Tata Motors has not revealed the booking amount yet. The possibility of the car being launched below 5 lakhs is making rounds in the industry.

The car will have doors opening at 90 Degree

Instead, the company has chosen to tease more features of the upcoming micro SUV. On social media channels, the automaker has published that the Punch will have doors that open at an almost 90-degree angle. This feature will make it easier for people to get in or out of the vehicle.

Before this, Tata Motors had teased about the exteriors and interiors of the Punch micro SUV. The car will come with a set of LED DRL units. The bonnet design seems wide with a pronounced grille flanked by headlights.

Larger in Size

It is being rumored that Tata Punch will be bigger in size than some of its rivals. Punch will stand wider than Maruti Suzuki Ignis, one of its prominent rivals. It is also has a higher ground clearance compared to the Ignis.

Dual Tone Interior

The car is likely to get a dual-tone themed interior with color accents on AC vents and dashboard. The infotainment system from Harman seems similar to what is found inside the Nexon SUV or Altroz premium hatchback. It will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Powerful Turbocharged Engine

Under the hood, Tata Punch might come with a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine. The engine will be coupled with either a five-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. The engine will produce 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque.

Other features of Tata Punch include a multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel, automatic climate control, a start-stop button, etc.
