TCS Vaccination Drive

Earlier in July, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, the country’s biggest outsourcer, said that it hoped to vaccinate all its employees and their families by September.

“Recognizing that vaccination was our best bet to an early return to normalcy, we undertook a pan-India vaccination drive that began in May

Also 70% of the company’s staff had been fully or partially vaccinated so far.”

Why Does TCS Want Employees To Get Back To The Office?

Milind Lakkad, global head, human resources had said that TCS created a blueprint, Vision 25/25 to ensure that 25 per cent of its employees were present only 25 per cent of the time in offices to be 100 per cent productive.

What Is The 25*25 Model?

TCS plans to put through the hybrid model 25×25 wherein by 2025, only 25% of its associates will need to work out of facilities at any point in time. According to the model, employees won’t be spending more than 25 per cent of their time at work.

But this model will be overwhelming for young mothers and women who are caring for the elderly. It will also help in tier 2 and 3 cities as remote working becomes a norm.

“Our customers are comfortable with this model and want us to take on more work that others are not able to handle. This has given us the confidence to come out with a bold new Vision 25×25. Under this model, the company is expecting only 1.12 lakh to work from office by 2025.”

According to Gopinathan, enhancing productivity and achieving a better work-life balance were two of the key reasons for the company’s decision to go remote.

Wipro Employees Will Now Work From Office

Many IT businesses are mass-vaccinating their personnel to ensure that they are protected from Covid, while also preparing them to return to work. Most MNC employees have already received their first round of vaccination, and some have also completed their second dosage.

In earlier September, Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji announced calling employees back to the office. “After 18 long months, our leaders @Wipro are coming back to the office starting tomorrow (twice a week). All fully vaccinated, all ready to go – safely and socially distanced,”
