Grofers Will Deliver Your Order In 10 Minutes! Launches Operations In 10th City

The business of online grocery delivery is getting a lot of traction in recent times. With players like JioMart trying to make huge strides into the segment, existing players are also ramping up their operations. With everyone trying to woo customers to use their own platforms, the companies are using different strategies. One of the most effective strategies to attract customers is faster deliveries. Moving ahead of one day and same-day delivery, the world is inching forward to 10 min delivery. And Grofers, the online grocery delivery service, does not want to lag behind in this race.

Grofers opens up in 10th City

“Today, we launched our 10th city with the promise to deliver groceries within minutes to your doorstep. While our average delivery times are still hovering around the 15-minute mark, our eventual vision is to be below 10 minutes for every customer in India,” said, Albinder Dhindsa, co-founder and chief executive officer, in the company’s blog.

He further added, “As we sign up more partners and keep building out our network, we are confident we will be under 10 minutes for the majority of the customers within the next 45 days.”

Currently, Grofers is offering services in Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ghaziabad, Noida, and Lucknow.

Rising competition

According to a recent survey by Reedseer, quick commerce is expected to grow 10-15-fold in the next five years. It will be a $5 billion opportunity by 2025.

Swiggy has expanded its Instamart grocery delivery service to five more cities. They are promising deliveries in 15-30 minutes.  Till now, Swiggy was present only in Bengaluru and Gurugram almost a year of its launch. But now, it has expanded Instamart to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Noida as well.

Tata Sons acquired a majority stake in the Bigbasket. With this additional reinforcement, BigBasket is also ramping up its express deliveries.

Recently publicly-listed Zomato has also launched grocery delivery on its app and they are servicing within the time of 35-40 minutes.

So, as the competition is increasing in the segment, it will be interesting to watch the tug of war between all the players.
