On 25 June, a guard working at one of Bank of Baroda (BoB) branches in Uttar Pradesh was sacked after shooting a customer for not wearing mask.
An internal probe has also been order into the issue and subsequently the guard was also arrested by Police.
Customer Shot For Not Wearing Mask, Out Of Danger
During an altercation over the customer not wearing a mask, the security guard at one of BoB’s branches in Bareilly shot a customer in the leg. On the incident, BoB said that they deeply regret the unfortunate firing incident that took place at Station Road Branch, Bareilly due to a reported altercation between the guard and the victim. The Bank said that the injured was immediately admitted in the district hospital and is also out of danger.
Support Extended By BoB To The Aggrieved Family
Every support, financial and otherwise, has been extended by the Bank to the aggrieved family. The guard was deployed by a private security agency. After the incident, he was relieved of his duties and also arrested by the police. The Bank said that it is working with the police authorities in their investigations.
In a statement BoB said that they, in order to avoid similar wrongdoing in future and to ensure customer safety, are conducting an internal investigation through the Bank’s security officials.
