Flipkart Offers Unlimited Health Cover To All 15,000 Employees At Zero Cost!

In a big, positive move, Walmart-owned Flipkart has announced a comprehensive health insurance policy for all 15,000 full-time employees in India.

As per the new health policy, all the employees will receive unlimited, unrestricted health cover, and it will be free. Flipkart employees won’t be asked to pay health insurance premium.

Unlimited Health Cover For All Flipkart Employees

Effective retrospectively from April, 2020, Flipkart will cover all deceased employees, irrespective of the cause of death. 

The family of the expired employees will receive health cover to the value of 5-times their CTC, along with notice period settlement as per the contract.

Krishna Raghavan, chief people officer at Flipkart confirmed this development as he said, Since the onset of the pandemic, we have gained valuable insights from the voices of our employees and a deep understanding of their priorities. We are keen to use these learnings to design and create policies that put employees at the centre stage.”

Major Features Of Flipkart’s Health Coverage

Some of the major highlights of Flipkart’s comprehensive health coverage includes:

• All full-time employees will be covered under this health care scheme, effective from April, 2020. Irrespective of the disease, and the cost of treatment, this health policy will cover all medical expenses

• Health policy also covers mental well-being of all the employees

• Enhanced maternity leaves for women employees, along with IVF expenses (if any), and robotic surgeries are also part of the health insurance cover

• For non-medical and critical illness cover, Flipkart will offer a lump sum amount to the patient

Recently, Flipkart had also launched an accelerated ESOP scheme, wherein the employees will be provided with an option to re-purchase the stocks during liquidity events.

This health scheme by Flipkart is indeed beneficial for all the employees, and sets a new standard in employee welfare space.
