Hyundai Registers 100% More Sales In Last 12 Months: Top Selling Hyundai Cars (Creta, i20, Venue)

The last year has proven to be an excellent year for Hyundai Motor India Ltd., despite being riddled with the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown that was imposed. We say this on the basis of the sales figures released by the company.

The company has seen 100 per cent sales growth in March 2021, as compared to March 2020.

Hyundai Records 100% Increase In YoY Sales In March 2021

Hyundai is the second-largest carmaker in India, if we go by sales volume. And the company’s sales for last month, i.e., March 2021 are here now. As per these figures, about 52,600 vehicles were dispatched in this period, and this denotes a 100  per cent sales growth over the same month last year (a total of 26,300 units sold in March 2020). 

Not only this, Hyundai has also stated that there has been a month on month sales growth as well, of about 1.94 per cent. The company has sold 51600 units in February 2021.

Hyudnai has about ten models in the passenger car range – Santro, Grand i10 Nios, Aura, i20, Venue, Verna, Elantra, Creta, Tucson, and Kona EV. there also is the Xcent Prime, which is sold as a commercial vehicle for fleet operators.

Market Share Of Hyundai Reduced Despite Increase In Sales

Despite this, the market share of Hyundai has gone down from 18.7 per cent in March 2020 to 16.4 per cent in March 2021. 

Creta is the mid-size SUV from Hyundai and has gained the #1 seller status later last year on multiple occasions. It recorded 12,428 sold units in February this year, a stark contrast to 700 units just a year before- thus registering an Year-on-Year volume growth of 1675%.

Feb 2021 turned out to be a fantastic period for the car when it became the 5th top selling passenger car in India. The first 4 spots belonged to 4 of Maruti Suzuki’s entry level offerings. 

Hyundai has announced the upcoming launch of its Alcazar. The Hyundai Alcazar will be launched in the Indian market by June 2021 and the price will be announced at the time of the launch; this will make it the brand’s first three-row SUV that will be sold in India after a very long time.
