Major upcoming smartphone launches likely to happen in India in the next few weeks.

OnePlus 9R

Android Central previously hinted that the upcoming OnePlus mid-range phone wilo debut with Snapdragon 865 chipset. The device is said to feature a 6.5-inch 1080p 90Hz display, a 64MP primary camera sensor with an 8MP ultra-wide, 5,000mAh battery, 8GB RAM & 128GB storage. The device will also support fast charging, probably 30W charging. OnePlus 9E will feature a 64-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit. It’s going to be a multi camera setup, probably a quad camera system with a macro and depth sensor.

The newly leaked OnePlus 9R is being rumoured to be an affordable variant, much like Apple iPhone 12 mini or Galaxy S21 FE. OnePlus 9R is expected to start at under Rs 20,000 in India. OnePlus 9R launch will happen alongside the OnePlus 9 series in March. OnePlus may also unveil another mid-range phone in the country: OnePlus Nord 2 in the next few months. OnePlus 9R launch date will soon be confirmed. OnePlus 9R launch in India will happen on the same day as the global launch, while availability will be confirmed later.

OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro

OnePlus is said to be working on a similar design as Samsung Galaxy S20 series, the same which Galaxy S21 series will sport. OnePlus 9 may have a camera module with the Galaxy S20 style. Both OnePlus 9 smartphones, OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro will sport a quad camera setup. The OnePlus 9 camera specifications are yet to be revealed. The PhoneArena OnePlus 9 leak revealed the prototype unit of the OnePlus 9. With a new design at the back, the upcoming OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro may look like the new Oppo Reno series phones with additional elements from the OnePlus 8T.

OnePlus 9 looks like a mix of OnePlus 8T and newly launched Oppo Reno 5. The rumour mill hints at a 108MP main camera inside the multi camera system with upgraded optical image stabilization features.

The biggest upgrade of all will be IP68 certification. OnePlus 9 Pro this year will officially come as a waterproof device. The new report shows OnePlus 9 Pro will support IP68 waterproofing certification. So the next OnePlus Pro phone will not only be able to withstand accidental spills, but also stay alive in 50m water for up to 30 minutes. 

Previously, OnePlus 9 camera leaks suggested a 50-megapixel lens within a three-camera system. It will come with a 50-megapixel Ultra Vision wide-angle camera with f/1.9 aperture 20-megapixel Cine Camera, an ultrawide lens with f/1.8 aperture and an OIS assisted 12-megapixel telephoto camera with autofocus and an f/3.4 aperture.

Under the hood both the OnePlus 9 smartphones will be powered by the Qualcomm top-end chip, the Snapdragon 888 chipset with 5G connectivity and 12GB RAM. The display will have a punch-hole selfie camera with a Quad HD+ display offering 3120 x 1440 pixels and 120Hz high refresh rate. OnePlus 9 may get a larger battery as well. OnePlus 8 smartphone currently is backed by a 4,300mAh battery, while the top-end OnePlus 8 Pro packs in a slightly larger 4,510mAh battery. OnePlus 8T comes with a 4,500mAh battery. 

But the battery on OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro will be a larger one in comparison to the OnePlus 8 series phones. Also, OnePlus 9 will come with upgraded fast charging technology, probably 125W fast charging. OnePlus 9 will support 65W ultra fast Dash charging and 40W wireless charging. OnePlus 9 launch will happen alongside the Pro model. OnePlus 9 Pro launch is expected by March, similar to the OnePlus 8 lineup launch timeline in 2020. OnePlus 9 price in India is expected to start at Rs 37,999. OnePlus 9 Pro price in India will start at around Rs 49,999 for the base model.

Redmi Note 10 Pro Max

The Redmi Note 10 smartphones will be unveiled on March 4 in India. Leaked details revealed Redmi Note 10 Pro Max will be available in two RAM and storage variants. There will be a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage option and a 8GB RAM model with 128GB storage. The phone will be available in three colour options: Blue, Black and Bronze. The device will have a quad-camera system arranged vertically and curved edges at the back. The Note 10 phones will come with a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout with a big battery, faster-charging support, IP52 rating for water and dust protection, and Hi-Res audio. 

The company also teased better haptic and Corning Gorilla Glass layer upfront. Leaked Redmi Note 10 specifications include a 120Hz LCD display, Snapdragon 732G chipset, quad-camera setup and 33W fast charging support. Redmi Note 10 Pro model may come with a AMOLED display, 108MP primary camera and 55W fast charging support.

Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro

Both the Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10 Pro will be unveiled on March 4 in India, rumoured to come in both 4G and 5G. The phones have earlier been spotted on certification sites including the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The company is expected to ship a 120Hz AMOLED display this time as per the sources with 64MP powered quad rear cameras. Xiaomi confirmed that the device will come with the smallest notch ever on a Redmi. The company teased that the upcoming Redmi phone will come with ‘the smallest notch ever on a Redmi’ phone with the Redmi Note 10 series.

Redmi Note 10 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon gaming-centric chipset claimed to be built for gaming, a glass build, Hi-Res audio certification and more. Xiaomi confirmed Redmi Note 10 will feature a big battery, faster-charging support, IP52 rating for water and dust protection and Hi-Res audio. 

There’s no cutout for the fingerprint sensor, so it may be within the power key or placed within the display. There have been hints before that Redmi Note 10 Pro may feature an AMOLED display. 33W fast charging technology is expected on Redmi Note 10 and the slightly toned-down Redmi Note 10 Lite. Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G will probably be powered by a Snapdragon 750G / Dimensity 820 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and MIUI 12.5 powered Android 11 OS.

Realme GT 5G 

Realme GT launch will first take place in China, and India availability is expected to be confirmed for the same month. Tipster Mukul Sharma tipped Realme GT 5G price to start under CNY 2,999 (around Rs 34,000). Realme GT specifications include a 5,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 888 chipset and 12GB RAM. A major update, the Realme Snapdragon 888 smartphone will come with the market-best 125W ultra-fast charging support, which can fully charge the phone within 15 minutes. The device is said to be an enhanced version of OPPO Ace 2. The device will come with a circular rear camera module and a hole-punch display upfront.

Other Leaked Realme GT specs sheet show a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ OLED 120Hz display offering a screen resolution of 3,200 X 1,440 pixels in an 20:9 aspect ratio. The Realme flagship will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with Adreno 660 GPU with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB / 5126GB storage options. The device will run on a 5,000mAh battery with 125W ultra fast-charging support. Realme Race Pro will host a triple-camera setup at the back with a 64MP primary sensor and two 13MP lenses. The phone will sport Android 11 based Realme UI 2.0 custom skin.

Realme 8, Realme 8 Pro

Realme 8 series will launch in India in March. Realme country head Madhav Sheth teased Realme 8 series on Twitter, Realme 8 series India launch seems imminent. The teaser image on Twitter suggests the upcoming series will come with 108MP camera. 91mobiles also spotted popular Bollywood Salman Khan using a never-seen-before smartphone, said to be Realme 8 Pro. Salman Khan is currently the brand ambassador for Realme in India.

Realme 8 launch was teased on Twitter by CEO Madhav Sheth, and the upcoming Realme phone will come with the top-end 108MP sensor as the main camera. Realme 8 is said to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 720 with 8GB RAM running on Android 11 OS. Realme 8 series will include vanilla Realme 8 and the higher-end Realme 8 Pro.

Either both the Realme 8 phones will include the 108MP camera, or the top-end Realme 8 Pro. They are also said to come with 5G support. Realme 8 may come with 8GB RAM and run Android 11 OS out of the box. China’s 3C certification suggested 65W fast-charging support, and expect a beefy battery as well. Realme 8 already has bagged the statutory BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification for India launch. Realme 8 India launch is expected in a couple of weeks from now including the top-end Realme 8 Pro.

Poco F2 / Poco F3: Redmi K40

Poco F2 launch seems imminent, receives Indonesia Telecom certification. It is being touted to be a rebranded Redmi K40 for a number of markets across Europe and Asia including India. Poco X2 was a rebranded Redmi K30 from last year, and similarly Poco F2 could be a rebranded version of the recently launch Redmi K40. The series further included Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro+ apart from the vanilla Redmi K40. The latest Indonesian Telecom certification leak suggests Redmi K40 will launch under Poco.

Redmi K40 global variant with model number M2012K11AG was earlier spotted at the IMDA certification, but not under Redmi brand, but under Poco brand. Poco is infamous for rebranding Redmi phones, and almost all models have been straightaway hits. To support the latest certification again the same Redmi K40 global model has now received the Indonesian Telecom certification, again under the Poco brand, spotted by tipster Mukul Sharma. We are yet to know which Poco model it will be, but it’s expected to be Poco F2.

Poco X3 Pro

Poco X3 Pro India launch timeline has been tipped, will happen by March. Poco X3 Pro launch is said to take place in the first or second week of March and the smartphone is going to be a 4G device. Also, Poco X3 Pro has been tipped alongside, said to start at Rs 18,999 or 19,999 for the base model. The device has already passed the NBTC certification hinting at imminent launch. The company is working on the new model, expected to be an upgraded version with better specs. Poco X3 was unveiled just a few months back in India, and currently it stands one of the best-selling budget smartphones in the country.

Now allegedly Poco X3 Pro is said to be in final phases of development, expected to launch in a few weeks. To recall, no Poco X2 Pro came after Poco X2, so the alleged Poco X3 Pro seems like an interesting addition. The upcoming Poco phone has received a number of certifications across platforms and leaked several times in the past.

The latest leak hints Poco X3 Pro launch in India soon, expected to be priced very aggressively as other Poco devices. Poco X3 Pro has received BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification, the mandatory clearance for any phone to launch in India. The reported model appeared on the BIS site with the model number ‘M2102J20SI.’ Not much information is available about Poco X3 Pro, but if we sum up the previous leaks, there’s some data available.

Vivo iQOO Neo 5

Vivo iQOO Neo 5 launch may happen in March. The device leaked on Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo a week back. The upcoming iQOO smartphone has been tipped to arrive next month with the latest Snapdragon 870 chipset. Leaked in a live image, the phone is seen running on the latest upgraded OS by Vivo, Origin OS. The device will come with the new OS based on Android 11, with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The iQOO Neo 5 leaked image also revealed the selfie camera. The device will feature a camera upfront on the front inside a water drop notch.

The image also revealed iQOO Neo 5 will have “8+3GB RAM”. As per some sources, Vivo is working onto develop a new hardware amalgamation called “fusion technology”.

It will help iQOO Neo 5 to dump some of the RAM-allocated memory to the storage chip and manage space better. The new technology will help the device freeing up space when needed without losing the state of the apps running in the background. The other leaked specs include a 4,400 mAh battery, 88W wired charging support and 66W wireless charging. The phone is said to start at CNY 2,999 (around Rs 33,540).

Vivo X50 Pro+, Vivo X60 Series

Vivo X50 Pro+ is tipped to launch alongside Vivo X60 series in India. Rumoured to happen by March-end or April, the handsets will be unveiled at the event. Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro were launched in India in July last year, but the company didn’t bring in Vivo X50 Pro+ at the time. The latest leak suggests Vivo X50 Pro+ will launch alongside the newer generation Vivo X60 series in India. Vivo unveiled X60 and X60 Pro in early January and the X60 Pro+ in late January. Vivo X60 price in India could start at under Rs 35,000 in the country, or around the same bracket.

Vivo X60 Pro+ is powered by the newly launched top Qualcomm flagship chip Snapdragon 888 SoC. The device features a quad rear camera setup and is available in two RAM and storage configurations. The company is yet to confirm Vivo X60 Pro+ global availability details. Vivo X60 features a 120Hz AMOLED screen and a triple camera, while the Vivo X60 Pro has a fourth lens, a periscope camera, and X60 Pro+ sports the new 50MP ISOCELL GN1 sensor and a 5x periscope zoom camera.

Both the Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro run on 5nm Exynos 1080 chipset, while the flagship Vivo X60 Pro+ is powered by 5nm Snapdragon 888 chipset. Vivo X60 Pro+ comes with upto upto 12GB RAM, 256GB storage and 55W fast charging support. The cameras on X60 Pro+ include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor (which also doubles as macro shooter), a 32-megapixel portrait shooter and finally an 8-megapixel periscope lens.
