Hyundai’s AX1 will be a Direct Competition With Tata’s HBX!

After launching Hyundai Venue last year, Hyundai has been either upgrading its existing car models or launching new generations of existing cars like i10 Grand Nios, Aura, Creta, and the newest launch of third-gen i20.

Tata Motors will be launching its HBX concept-based production model which will also be in the micro SUV segment.

Hyundai currently has the Venue, Creta, and Tucson in its SUV space. While Venue rose to fame instantly with its three engine options, a packed features list, Creta has been in the top-10 selling cars in the country for quite some time now. Creta and Venue have been bringing in consistent sales figures for the South-Korean carmaker.

In the most affordable range, Hyundai currently has Santro. However, this can change with the launch of this micro SUV.

The Features of Hyundai’s AX1!

The spotted-car was seen with production-ready parts like the Outside Rear View Mirrors and alloy wheels.

The micro-SUV might be based on the K1 architecture as the new Santro. The testing mule was spotted with a split headlight cluster in the front and at the rear, sculpted tailgate, and wraparound LED tail lamps.

The AX1 was also seen with high ground clearance, tall pillars, a raked windshield, squared wheel arches among other features.

Despite being 4 meters in length, the car seems bulky with enough cabin space. The rear door handles are located on the C-pillars of the SUV.

Powered with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine the micro SUV has transmission duties of five-speed manual or five-speed AMT.
