Avoid Paying 2% Extra On Paytm Wallet While Adding Money Using Credit Card: But How?

Shocking several loyal users, Paytm has now imposed an additional 2% charge for adding money into the wallet, via Credit Card.

Earlier, this additional 2% was applicable only for Rs 10,000 or more deposits via Credit Cards, but since October, this is now applicable for all transactions, no matter what is the amount.

Paytm has claimed that this 2% additional charge needs to be paid by them to the banks, and now a situation has arisen when they cannot absorb it on behalf of the users.

However, there is a method using which, you can avoid paying this extra 2% to Paytm for adding money using credit card.

Checkout the method right here!

How To Avoid 2% Extra Charge On Paytm For Using Credit Card?

All you need to do is, add money on your Paytm wallet via Uber app.

Yes, you heard it right.

When you add money into your Paytm wallet via Uber app, and use your credit card for the same, there won’t be any 2% extra charge levied on the transaction.

But if you directly use the credit card to add money directly into your Paytm wallet, then there will be a 2% additional charge.

Follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Uber app

Step 2: Open Payments section

Step 3: Tap on Paytm

Step 4: Add money using Credit card

Step 5: Entire money is added into Paytm wallet, without any extra charge

2% Extra Charge For Using Credit Card On Paytm: What Is The Logic?

Last year, Paytm introduced an additional fee of 1.75% plus GST on all money deposits done on their wallet using credit card.

But after a backlash from their loyal users, this was changed to only those transactions which are Rs 10,000 and above.

But starting October, every credit card transaction to add money into the wallet will be charged 2% extra.

That is, if you add Rs 1000, then pay Rs 20 extra.

As per Paytm, this is the fees which they are required to pay to the concerned banks for receiving money via their credit cards.

Initially, they provided a code to offset this charge, but gradually, that was also withdrawn.

We are really not sure how long this Uber method for adding money without any 2% fees will work, but as of now, it’s working.

We will keep you updated, as more details come in.
