After months of maneuvering through the crisis, it seems that gloomy days are over as companies are embracing remote hiring, as suggested by a recent survey by CareerNet Consulting.

All Signs Are Present

As people are back to works, so is hiring, as it has picked up by a fair bit of pace in the last one month.

According to HR consultants, it’s close to 70% of the pre-COVID-19 levels as companies have started filling up the vacant positions quickly.

Another good news is that some multi-national corporations are shifting more work to India and expected to step up the hiring process for their R&D, global technology and other requirements by the end of the year.

The head (strategic account management), Randstad India, Sanjay Shetty said that the focus has been on how to manage cash flows and various other items rather than on drastically reducing the headcount during the Pandemic.

What Are The Findings Of  Survey Suggest?

It seems that the Covid-19 pandemic has reshaped the traditional structure of businesses across sectors.

According to this survey, 3 out of 4 organizations believe that they can effectively hire employees remotely.

Further, this study reveals that companies from e-Commerce, IT/ITES, Services, Science and Technology and Telecommunications sectors exhibit a higher readiness ie 82 percent for virtual hiring. 

This survey had 49 percent of the respondents from Bengaluru only.

Which Skills Are In Demand?

People who specialize in risk management and business continuity can command their price as businesses are scrambling to find experts in this space.

Also, the experts in the field of technology such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data sciences are in big demand.

The skills companies are looking for mostly related to digital transformation, technology, engineering and data sciences, according to Nicolas Dumoulin, the managing director, Michael Page India. 

Page said, “these are in demand across the e-commerce, SaaS, gaming, performance marketing as well as mobility sectors,”.

Apart from that, many firms are focusing on doing business online as e-shopping has picked up majorly in the pandemic scenario.
