Patanjali Says Coronil Cannot Cure Coronavirus; High Court Issues Notice Against Patanjali

We clearly remember what Patanjali told while launching their wonder drug: Coronil. They claimed that their medicine based on Ayurveda can cure coronavirus patients.

Entire branding, advertisements and media stories were based on that premise.

But now, Baba Ramdev led Patanjali has made a complete U-turn. They are claiming that their medicine cannot cure coronavirus, and they never claimed that it will!

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand High Court has issued notice to Patanjali over their ‘earlier’ claims related to the cure of coronavirus, even as Govt has approved Patanjali to sell their medicine as an immunity booster and not a medicine for coronavirus.

Patanjali: We Never Said Coronil Will Cure Coronavirus

In an interview with ANI, Acharya Balkrishna, CEO Patanjali and co-founder made a complete u-turn, and denied that their medicine can cure coronavirus,

He said, “We never told the medicine (coronil) can cure or control corona, we said that we had made medicines and used them in clinical controlled trial which cured corona patients. There is no confusion in it.”

This is a clear u-turn from their earlier stand, wherein they claimed that they have achieved 100% results while curing coronavirus patients using their Ayurvedic medicine called Coronil.

Patanjali had claimed that their medicine can cure coronavirus within 7-14 days.

Uttarakhand High Court Notice To Patanjali

After an advocate filed PIL in the Uttrakhand High Court over misleading claims by Patanjali over their Ayurvedic medicine, the High Court has issued a notice to Patanjali, and sought reply by Wedneday.

Meanwhile Ayush Ministry has allowed Patanjali to sell their medicines as immunity boosters, and not a cure for coronavirus,

The Ministry allowed Patanjali to sell their immunity booster, without using the term coronavirus or Covid-19 anywhere in the packaging.

Govt has also allowed Patanjali to carry on clinical trials based on their immunity booster.

FIRs and criminal complaints against Patanjali have already been filed against Patanjali, over their claim of curing coronavirus via their Ayurvedic medicine. One criminal complaint alleges an attempt to murder against Patanjali over their medicines.
