Lockdown Won’t Return In Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka; Maharashtra Schools Opening From July?
State Governments of Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka has declared that no more lockdowns will be imposed, even as total number of cases surge across India.
Meanwhile, schools will start opening in Maharashtra from next month onwards, as per some reports.

No Lockdown In Delhi: CM Arvind Kejriwal
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has declared that there will be no further lockdowns in the National Capital. He said, “Many people are speculating whether another lockdown in Delhi is being planned. There are no such plans,”
With 41,000 cases, Delhi is third worst hit state in India. 1300 deaths have already been reported. Supreme Court had rapped Delhi Govt last week, and described the situation as “horrendous, horrific and pathetic”.
All shops and commercial establishments were opened from June 8th, except those in the containment zones.
No Lockdown In Maharashtra
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also cleared the air on the reimposition of lockdown in the state. He declared that there will be no further lockdown in the state.
He said, “We are easing lockdown restrictions in phases to restart the economy. But lifting of restrictions does not mean unnecessary crowding and violating discipline of physical distancing and hygiene,”
With more than 1 lakh cases, Maharashtra is the worst hit state in India. Around 3000+ cases are being reported in the state on a daily basis.
No Lockdown In Karnataka
Karnataka has also declared that there will no lockdown.
Karnataka medical education minister K Sudhakar said, “There is no question of another lockdown in the state. The rumours which are floating ahead of the prime minister’s meeting with chief ministers of all states are without basis.”
Karnataka has been able to relatively control the spread of infection, with only 3176 active cases in the state.
Maharashtra Will Start Schools
As per some reports coming in, Maharashtra is all set to reopen schools in a phased manner.
While Classes IX to XII will reopen from July, classes VI to VIII is expected to open from August and I to V from September.
The proposal has been sent to CM Uddhav Thackeray, and more details are awaited.
At the same time, it has been confirmed that ICSE 10th exams will be conducted in July in the state.
