Mitron, The Pakistani Clone App, Is Back On Playstore; This State Has Warned Against Downloading
It seems that the roller coaster ride for Mitron app is far from over.
However, Maharashtra Govt’s Cyber Cell has warned against downloading this app. Their warning was issued yesterday, before Google approved the app on their playstore.
Mitron App Is Back On Google Playstore
The app has restored all the previous statistics: 3.8 star average review, and the count of 50 lakh or 5 million downloads.
We had reported the reason why Mitron app was removed from the Google Playstore, and it seems that the app developers have rectified the issues.
After banning this app, Google had said, “We have an established process of working with developers to help them fix issues and resubmit their apps. We’ve given this developer some guidance and once they’ve addressed the issue the app can go back up on Play.”
After garnering 5 million downloads, it as found that the app is a clone of a Pakistani app, which was bought for Rs 3000 from an online marketplace.
Maharashtra Cyber Cell: Don’t Download Mitron App
After Mitron app was banned from Google Playstore, and it was found that it’s a clone of a Pakistani app, Maharashtra Cyber Cell had issued a warning against this app.
In their warning, Cyber Cell department of Maharashtra Govt had said that this is a Pakistani ripoff, and not Made in India app.
Besides, their warning also pointed towards security related vulnerabilities of the app, and informed the public that any hacker can get into your system, via this app.
The warning concludes by saying that users should uninstall it asap.
The developers of this app havent yet revealed if all the security concerns shared by Maharashtra’s Cyber Cell department has been taken care of or not.
