Govt. of Jharkhand To Rope In Zomato And Swiggy For Online Alcohol Delivery
The Government of Jharkhand has put online food delivery platforms Zomato and Swiggy in charge of delivering alcohol to people’s doorsteps in some of the big cities. These cities include Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Deoghr, Dhanbad, Ramgarh, Giridih, and Palamu.
As per the Excise and Prohibition Secretary Vinay Kumar Chaoubey, the Government will be adopting a hybrid system to provide liquor. In this system, people can go and buy alcohol while following all the norms of social distancing.
Furthermore, they can also get alcohol delivered online through the two online food delivery platforms, Zomato and Swiggy. All you need to do is download the app, fill up your cart, and pay the bill amount. Chaubey said, “Secondly, people can get home delivery of liquor at their doorsteps through the two food aggregators – Zomato and Swiggi by downloading the app on their mobile phones.”
E-Tokens To Be Given Preference Above All
Additionally, two other types of arrangements have been made for people to obtain alcohol from the other 15 district headquarters.
The first one is the regular way where people can purchase alcohol from the retail shops directly. The second way is for those who want to avoid the queue in front of the alcohol stores. For this, they can just log on to the website https://jhexcisetoken.nic.in.
On logging in, they will be given an e-token and a time slot. After this, they can go to the alcohol store in the allotted time slot and buy their alcohol there. If a person shows an e-token, he will be given a preference above those who stand in the regular line.
