The COVID-19 outbreak has been the main issue affecting the supply chain and production. There would be multiple devices coming to India in May 2020, and they are expected to be available during the same period.
The recent GST hike will also be adding up to the prices of the smartphones to be sold in India.

Google Pixel 4A
The affordable entry-level flagship from Google, the Pixel 4A could be coming this May. Set to be an iPhone SE 2020 rival, Pixel 4A was speculated to launch at the I/O event early this year, but the COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of the event as many other events. As per the rumour mill, Google Pixel 4A could launch in May or June if things are under control by then. Pixel 4A may feature a 5.81-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a punch-hole.
Pixel 4A will be powered by Snapdragon 730 SoC featuring a 12.2-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Pixel 4A will have eSIM support. Pixel 4A will house a 3,080mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
Realme Narzo 10
Realme Narzo series launch has been postponed once again. There will be two phones under the new series to be unveiled: Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A. Realme Narzo 10 has previously been leaked on popular benchmarking site, AnTuTu. The AnTuTu score of Narzo 10 matches the just launched Realme 6i.
Realme Narzo 10 is going to be a rebranded Realme 6i. The device was recently launched in Myanmar.
A live image of the Narzo 10 from a retail store has been leaked. Narzo 10 will come with a water drop styled notch and it’s going to be a tall display. Realme Narzo 10 scored 2,03,078 on the benchmark test, making it one of the best in the budget range.
Realme Narzo 10A
As Realme 6i, the Realme Narzo 10 will be powered by MediaTek Helio G80 processor. On the other hand, the Realme Narzo 10A is expected to be a toned-down Realme 6i. Realme Narzo 10 price is expected to start at under Rs 15,000 in India, while Realme Narzo 10A price will stay in the sub-10,000 bracket. Realme Narzo launch on March 26 has been cancelled indefinitely due to the countrywide lockdown.
Narzo 10A is expected to come with similar specifications as the top-end model with some streamed down features including a four camera setup, Android 10 and big battery.
Realme X3
Realme X3 is tipped to be launching in May 2020. It has been spotted on TENAA, hinting at an imminent launch. The listing revealed some key Realme X3 specs as 4,100mAh battery, 6.57-inch display and 5G support. There will be a special Realme X3 SuperZoom model which will come with 108MP cameras. The 108MP sensor will power the multi-camera systems on the Realme X3 series, expected to be rear penta camera setups.
Expected to arrive in May in 2020, Realme X3 will succeed Realme X2 in the mid-range category, while Realme X3 Pro will replace Realme X2 Pro in the entry-premium category, which may come later in October or sometime around it.
Xiaomi Mi 10
Mi 10 India launch was postponed due to the lockdown, and the device will be unveiled in India in May 2020. Mi 10 features a 6.67-inch 90Hz OLED 1080p display along with a punch-hole for the selfie camera. Under the hood, Mi 10 runs on the same Snapdragon 865 SoC with upto 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Mi 10 has a quad rear camera setup as well with 108-megapixel main sensor.
The four camera module on Mi 10 further includes 2MP sensors with a 13MP f/2.4 wide-angle lens.
Mi 10 has a bigger 4,780mAh battery with support for 30W fast-charging technology. Mi 10 also runs on the latest version of MIUI 11 based on Android 10. Mi 10 supports 30W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
Poco F2 Pro
Poco F2 Pro may launch in May 2020. It was just spotted on as Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) website, the new device spotted is being speculated to be Poco F2. The latest leak reveals a common link between Poco F2 model number and Redmi Note 9 series. The model number M2004J11G is a Poco smartphone which has been labelled un Xiaomi as the manufacturer. Shared by @stufflistings on Twitter, the Poco device comes with model number M2004J11G.
The leaked model number is hinting towards a rebranded Redmi phone under the Poco brand. While this could be a different Poco F2, or a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro as Poco X2 Pro. It’s sure Poco F2 is coming, and the launch could be happening in a few weeks from now alongside Poco EarBuds.
Mi Note 10 Lite 5G
Mi Note 10 Lite 5G launch has been confirmed on April 27, officially confirmed by Xiaomi. Mi Note 10 Lite 5G India launch is also expected within a few days in India, probably after Mi 10 India launch either in May or sometime later. Mi Note 10 Lite may get called Mi Note 10 Youth Edition and it’s going to be a 5G smartphone.
Mi Note 10 Lite 5G either may come as a special variant or a single model. The Snapdragon 730G doesn’t support 5G, so Mi Note 10 Lite 5G may get powered by Snapdragon 765G, the mid-range Qualcomm 5G chip with support for 50X zooming capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy M11
Samsung Galaxy M11 could be coming in May 2020. The device will come with a standard HD+ display offering a screen resolution of 720×1560 pixels. As an upgrade over the notch, the screen will come with a punch-hole selfie camera on the upper left side instead of the water drop notch.
Galaxy M11 will be powered by the budget Qualcomm chip, the Snapdragon 450 paired with 3GB of RAM running on Android 10 out of the box. The new Samsung Galaxy M smartphone will have Samsung’s newly refreshed One UI 2.0 skin on top.
Redmi 9A
Redmi 9A may come in May 2020. The launch was expected earlier, but it got pushed due to the lockdown. The company a few weeks back unveiled an upgraded version of the Redmi 8A, and now the successor to Redmi 8A Dual is being expected in May, the Redmi 9A. Said to be going against the recently launched Realme C3, Redmi 9A will fight in the budget category offering similar features and functionalities.
Redmi 9A may run on the Helio G70 processor. Redmi 9A will pack a bigger battery, probably the same 5,000mAh battery as Redmi 8A Dual. Redmi 9A will be available in India in the sub-8,000 segment, expected to come with some upgraded features this time.
Huawei P40 Series
Huawei P40 Pro has been launched, and they are expected to be available in India by May. P40 Pro comes with a 52-megapixel main camera, the first for any smartphone. It couples with a 40-megapixel cine shooter and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 125 mm lens. The P40 phones come with punch-hole displays. The leaked images revealed that Huawei P40 will come with a flat screen while the P40 Pro will feature a curved screen, both with big punch-hole cut-outs.
The latest Huawei flagships under the new series were unveiled globally on March 26. Among the top camera phones launching in April, Huawei P40 devices are expected to be available in India in April 2020.
Nokia 5.3
The new Nokia 5.3 is expected in India by April or sometime later. It comes with a 6.55-inch display running on Snapdragon 665 under the hood. Nokia 5.3 also packs in a four camera system on the back featuring a 13MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide angle shooter, 2MP macro sensor and 2MP depth sensor. Upfront Nokia 8.3 houses a 8MP camera housed in a notch.
The device is backed by a 4,000mAh battery. Nokia 5.3 runs Android 10 out-of-the-box with guaranteed two years of Android updates. Nokia 5.3 price starts at 189 euros (around Rs 15,100) for the 4GB/64GB model.
Honor 30S
Honor 30S has launched in China on March 30, and it could come to India in May 2020. Honor 30S comes with Kirin 820 5G chipset, a quad four camera setup at the back, 40W fast charging and more. Honor 30S will support 5G. The quad-camera set-up is placed inside a rectangular module on the top left corner.
Three rear cameras are vertically aligned cameras with the ToF sensor next to the camera module. Honor 30S features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner with a sizable battery backing it up.
