What Information We Have of The Redmi 9 So Far?
The company revealed the successor to Redmi 8 is being expected in March, the Redmi 9. The company said it is set to go against the recently launched Realme C3. The Redmi 9 will be set to be in an affordable range with specification as same as Realme C3.
Redmi 9 might run on the Helio G70 processor. Redmi 9 is said to be armed with a bigger battery, probably the same 5,000mAh battery as Redmi 8A Dual. Redmi 9 will be available in India in the sub-8,000 segment, expected to come with some upgraded features this time.
The New Leaks!
The Redmi 9 leaked image reveals a quad-cam setup on the back. The source lists the modules as a 13MP main camera, an 8MP ultra wide, and a 5MP macro unit, plus a 2MP depth sensor. The three actual cams are the ones lined up vertically as we can see in the Redmi K30/Poco X2. It comes with the depth-only module downgraded to the side along with the flash.
The configuration is conceptually similar to the Realme 6i, a lower end device that got announced recently. The Redmi 6i beats the 9 when it comes to the main camera (48MP vs 13MP), but loses in macro (2MP vs. 5MP), with the ultra wides and depth sensors tied.
It’s not the only common trait of the two phones either. Sudhanshu Ambhore that delivered the leak has intel on the chipset to be used in the Redmi 9, and that’s supposedly the Mediatek Helio G80 – same as the one powering the Realme 6i.
